Samsung CLP600 - wants me to install a transfer belt

Samsung CLP600 printer, shortly after changing black toner, says INSTALL TRANSFER BELT even though I haven't removed the existing one. Any ideas?

    Good thought -- but I don't think I've changed anything at all. It's nowhere near 50,000 copies -- probably not even 2500 so far since I've owned it. How can I make sure the belt is in place? I'm trying to find the sensor for it...perhaps it is dusty.

    I have this problem, I have samsung clp-600n. I have just replaced the transfer belt on the printer but the displays display show to replace the belt. what am I doing wrong?

"install transfer belt" message" appeared right after black toner was relpaced with a non samsung toner(new chip too)--installation of new transfer belt did not solve problem--- i went back and reinstalled the original samsung chip into the toner cartridge---the "install transfer belt" message is gone and the printer works but has a "low toner" message----i guess i learned my lesson the hard way---anyone in the market for a new transfer belt???........wj

Dave you rock! after being frustrated by Samsung's tech support chat for hours and many months leaving the printer alone due to this install transfer belt error, i followed your advise and viola! worked. Now I am stuck with a new belt that I did not need. However, I will still leave the new belt in there as i have had this printer since 2006 and its been working great for me until the error message.

After suffering thru this problem for 2yrs, i think I just found the answer.
I just refilled all my colors (red/blue/yellow), and immediately got the "install transfer belt" error.

1 the manual says that a transfer belt is bad only if it says "Replace Transfer Belt" (if it says "Install Transfer Belt" it thinks the belt is NOT installed!)

2. I painstakingly went thru every inch of changes I had made to the printer since last running it.
I had replaced toner and sensors in the 3 colors, and ahd removed/reinstalled the transfer belt.

At every step I checked the unit (closed door and tried again). This took a long time.

I found that ONE of the counter PCB's (the tiny PCB that you get with a refill kit) was in slightly crooked in its mount. I straightened this and pushed it up to the top of it's slot. THAT fixed it!!

So my guess is this - if your chip isn't perfectly aligned in the sensor slot for it, the unit gets a false read on it, and won't allow you to go forward.

I'm a bit baffled as to why it would show the Transfer Belt error, but that did it for me!

    Wow! great reply Dave. I've been struggling with Install Transfer Belt for a couple of hours, just pushed the chip up in the new magenta cartridge I put in and it works!

    Dave, you rock ! I was tearing my hair out and in desperation, checked the chip contacts on the new black toner cartridge I just installed - lo and behold, it was slipping up and not making contact ! I carefully bent the plastic housing a tiny bit to keep the sensor contacts in place, popped it back in, closed the covers and tada ! It works !

We have this printer at work and the message "INSTALL TRANSFER BELT" appears every time we change a cartridge. I have since found out that it is because the sensor is not aware that the side is shut. You have to push the handle in (the one used to open the side with the cartridges) as far as it will go to alert the sensor that the side has been shut and the transfer belt is installed and in place.

Normally the transfer belt is good for an approximation of 50000 copy before need replacement .....Maybe the transfer belt is misplaced check if it's correctly place...

I hope you :changed the belt" rather than just reset it. Not a good thing to do. It will invite other problems such as Calibration/Saturation of toner-to-belt, and associated parts and boards.

Installing samsung clx6220 image unit


See page 103 of http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201112/20111205134621713/EN/English.pdf. It looks like the clx6220 uses a transfer belt to transfer all the different toner powders to the paper.

The transfer belt unit is refered to also as the image unit !
Also each toner cartridge contains the OPC drum and is replaced when you replace a toner cartridge by the look of it.
You need a transfer belt to transfer the image to the paper and this is why they call it an image unit.
I am guessing that the transfer belt needs replacement !

Samsung transfer belt color


First Take out the transfer belt out again and refix and put the connectors properly.
Next check the driver settings.
Check the toners are present and working by installing a samsung smart panel software.
then u print .
If the same thing exists. take assistance of service center. it may be HVPS problem.

SAMSUNG CLP600 COLOUR QUALITY


I've had the same problem with color problems, especially with cyan (blue). I have found that many of the toner cartridges I receive are defective. When I receive a new one, I try it out for a few pages. If the color isn't perfect I return the cartridge and get a replacement. After 1-2 tries, I get one that puts down good color. (A really bad solution I know, but it does get the job done.)

Invalid transfer belt error on Samaung CLP 600N


This error can arise when the door on the right-hand side of the printer, the part you open in order to replace the toner cartridges, is not correctly closed. Close the top right-hand section first and then close the door on the right-hand side firmly (slamming it if necessary) and then check that all edges look correctly aligned. That should solve the problem. Incorrect shutting of these parts has always been the cause of this error on our Samsung CLP-600N laser printers and we have several of them.

CLP-500 is printing only on left side of paper


You'll need to look at

Drum Unit - these can go beyond their rated life

Transfer Belt - these can fail suddenly and dramatically, often quite soon after their rated life is reached.

Also check Transfer Roller (open the duplexer door to see this - grey (black when new) foam roller about 25mm diameter purple plastic tabs on ends (1 may be black). This is critical to good quality prints, as it maintains the contact between paper and Transfer Belt AND electrostatically pulls the toner off the Transfer Belt onto the paper.

Ricoh Aficio cl2000


Most of the time when I find this happening on a printer, not just Ricoh's it turns out to be the PCU (photo conductor unit). The color PCU is one unit and the black is a seperate unit. Hope this helps.
