You can also try to reinstall the Network adapter

Click Start -> Right click on My computer -> Properties -> hardware -> device manager -> Network adapters

Right click and uninstall provided you have the driver disk from the manufacturer. After you uninstalled click Action on the device manager and click scan for hardware changes. This should automatically install the driver for the network adapter. Otherwise install the driver from the manufacturer disk

Good luck

IMovie won't share videos to Facebook, always says "request timed out" What do I do?!?!

That seems to be a problem with your network, if on wifi try going nearer to your router, if that doesn't work try flushing your dns. You could try using a new network to do it too.

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Enter cmd in the Start menu search field.
  3. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
  4. Type the following command and press Enter: ipconfig /flushdns
  5. If the command was successful, you will see the following message: Windows IP configuration successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

I can suggest you a solution. I am not sure whether it will work or not but you can try this and see if that works.

Open the setup page of Linksys router using
On the setup page you will see Static DNS 1. Enter in Static DNS1. And Enter in static DNS 2 option. Save the settings.

See if this works.
Also make sure that firmware on your router is upgraded.

After going through the wireless connection guide I get an authenication for ssid and excellent connection status, but when I click on the internet explorer logo I get error message "Cannot find...

Check the DNS numbers you have in your network configuration under TCP/IP. Can you ping google? Go to the START button, then RUN and type in CMD and hit enter. A dos prompt window will open (black screen with text and the cursor will be blinking). Type in - ping - and hit enter. It should come back with times it takes to ping google. If it comes back not finding google then you're not connecting to the webserver... need right dns numbers.

I have sony VAIO VGN . I am not able to connect to wireless internet. Only local connection is established but does not connect to Internet. I have tried different locations and IPs.

It is because the DNS address may be set to static. make sure you insert the DNS ip address by right clicking on your network icon and then select status, then properties. select internet protocol then enter the static DNS address. you can obtain it from a machine connected to the network with internet access by typing ipconfig/all in a command prompt. hope this solve your problem.
to enter command prompt click on start then select run, and type cmd and press enter
