What Cause's Disc Read Error'sThere are many different factors on what could cause a DRE.
1. Games, Cd's, DVD's, Cd-Rom's all could be scrached up to much, for the PlayStation to be read them
2.
Your PlayStation could be to Dirty! Meaning, dust, hair, dirt, water,
soda, anything that may have gotten into your PlayStation system,
causing your laser/lens no being able to read the Disc correctly.
3.
Your PlayStation laser-lens could be out of line. This happens if your
PlayStation has been droped, kicked, wacked around. Really, and
physical abuse. For those of you that don't know what this means,
here is a quick over view. Your playStation laser is on a track. When
your system is on, the laser slides back and forth to read what ever
disc you may have in the system at that time. So physical
abuse could cause the laser to get off track.
4.
Your system's laser, or DvD player might just be broke. This could
happen if it has taken in to much physical abuse, or just a random occurrence.
What Can I do, to fix my Disc Read ErrorIf you think, that one of these problems might be giving your DRE's, then this next section is here to help you.
1.
This problem is simply fixable. All you need to do, is either run your
disc through a disc cleaner, or get your disc refurbished. You can
easily get your disc refurbished at either Gamestop, Eb Games, Best Buy
if I remember does them. Or any computer store. Or, you can simply just
buy a new Game, Cd, or DVD
2.
There are few different ways, to help fix your PlayStation system, that
is giving you Disc Read Errors from your system being dirty.
A.
You can simply run a Laser-Lens Cleaner through your PlayStation
System. This will remove any dust, hair, or dirt, that may be blocking
the laser-lens to be able to read your disc correctly.
B.
You can use a Air Duster to blow out where you disc goes into your
system. This could blow away any dust, dirt, or hair that may be trapt
in the DVD player of your system.
C.
If you want to open up the PlayStation system yourself, to really give
the laser-lens, and DVD player a good cleaning, you can
FOLLOW
this Guide I found. (This is one guide I have shown many users, and all
have used and loved the guide) Remember, if you open your PlayStation
system, this will void any warranty that your system may still have. It
may even prevent sony from fixing your PlayStation system, if you
should choose to have them fix it. (Please read on how to have sony fix
your Playstation in 2. D. in this section of the guide.) Altho, I have
sent sony a PlayStation of mine that I have opened up myself, and broke
the warranty sticker that is on the system.
D.
You can simply call SONY. (PlayStation Support: 1-800-345-SONY) You
just simply call that number, and just listen and tell the operator
that you are talking to, what is going on with your system. They will
then over the phone, try and help you figure out what the error is, and
even try to help you fix the problem right then and there over the
phone. Or they will ask you to send in your PlayStation system so they
can further look at what may be causing yoru problems. Once they figure
out what is causing you problems, they will go ahead, and fix the
problems. If your system is still under the Sony One Year Warranty, you
will have NOT be charged for the repairs. However, if your system is
past the Warrany, they still will fix your system. Sometimes they WILL
charge you, other times they might fix your PlayStation system for
nothing!
3. You can try and fix your laser by visiting this
GUIDE. Remember, if you open your PlayStation system, this will void any warranty that your system may still have.
4.If
your PlayStation's DVD player, or lens is broken. Then you can either
send your system into SONY to get it fixed. Or buy a new DVD player, or
lens and repair it yourslef. (This part of the guide will updated with
links soon)
Thanks,
We hope to see your problem resolved.
Good Luck and Good Day.
