I don't think that is it because my upstairs tenant has jumped on our network and got out to the web. I have recently removed all the security off the router, and i was still unable to get on the web. I have recently added Symenatec security on my Laptop. that did not help or hurt my connection, but still no web.

I cant email my resume out message comes back server rejected sender email what do i do thanks

There are two sides to this connectivity problem--theirs and yours. To find out which is which, do the following--

- You probably have the wrong email address. Check if you have the correct email address;
- check if you have proper syntax; are you typing it in correctly?.
- Send that same resume message to yourself and see if it goes through to your inbox, This rules out the possibility that the problem is with your end of the connection.
- If the problem is on your side of the connection, troubleshoot for connectivity.

When i connect all cable my Linsys wrt54 g is not workin and my indternet conction.

First, make sure that all your cables are plugged in correctly. If everything is connected correctly, the lights on the front should start blinking. Once they start blinking, you can follow the guide here:http://www.columbia.edu/acis/networks/aptnet/linksys/index.html This guide will help with setting up the router, as well as making it secure. Hope this helps!

I bought an Amazon "Kindle" Wi-Fi reading device

Hi,

I do not recommend that you use WEP for security as this is no longer a secure method for wireless network.

Setting up a wireless network can be a bit tricky at times, but if you follow this step by step guide for Linksys routers, you will have your wireless network up and secure in no time.
It will walk you through resetting the wireless router and quickly setting up a securing your network.

May be your modem is not configured correctly by bsnl.
call up your telephone exchange ask for the correct details of the connection and try again.
If it still doesnt work ask for a replacement of the modem.

My Linksys will not connect to my WII

Well the first thing is that you have WRT160N router. This router has issues with the firmware. So first you will need to upgrade the firmware of the router. Download the firmware of the router from the manufacturer's web site. Connect your computer to the router. Open the router page. Click on Administration tab. Just below administration you will find firmware upgrade subtab. If you click on it, you will find the browse option. Browse the file that you have downloaded from the web site. and Click upgrade.
For WII, you will also need to change the MTU to 1365 and open some port numbers on the router.

Internet connection slow, how do I speed up my service.

Have you tested your service and compared the readings based on the service you are paying for? You should test with a direct connection (no router) to your PC and then test again with the router in place. Try www.speedtest.net as a test site. You can also try www.speakeasy.net as another test site with a little less graphics load. If your bandwidth is less than advertised (expect the actual to be about 25-30 percent under the advertised) then contact your service provider to see if they offer faster service

My son has a wireless internet laptop

Could be alot of things.

The host name and domain are mainly for organizational purposes, like tags.
If you're using wireless a recognizable CCID is good to have.

If your son is using wireless, he will need to have the security Key, that's set on the Router, in order to go through it. He may be able to connect to the router, but won't be able to go through it to the Internet without the key.

Also, if your son is using a Windows 98 or prior, he will have to use the correct Login credentials. These operating systems don't tell you when you're not using the correct credentials, till you try to do something on the network. More recent Operating systems correct this.

The first step is onto the network, so see if you can see his computer on the network as a "Workgroup Computer".

The second step is through the routers security settings.

Hope something here helps.

Setup your IP addresses correctly by checking available IP addies in router.

You will have to know your router addie and your available wireless addies (in router). For this you need to enter router configuration (read manual).

Open network properties, tcp/ip properties, check "use following ip addie and enter something like 192.168.1.5 depending on what your router is setup as available.

Enter same subnet as your router.

Enter DNS server addies from you ISP.
