Washer does not finish cycle..it stops at spin and it displays a 'dc' code...what is this

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.
dC code from the Service Manual = Distribute Clothes: The load is unbalanced, preventing high speed spin. Redistribute clothes.
Your wash tub is banging around during the spin cycle correct?
You can redistribute the wash basket load until the cows come home the issue will only continue to get worse. Maybe start throwing uC error codes to the console display for continuous unbalance error code.
Your FAV6800A or FAV9800A has a Clutch malfunction. It can be corrected if you are handy see this DIY fix Clutch Fix. post.
If you decide to dive in I will help you through the fix………Rich

Wont Finish Spinning stops and Flashed DC

If the machine type is a FAV6800A/FAV9800A see this Clutch repair post if you want to DIY. You will find links to the Service Manual and parts info if needed.

You can check out the TDS but I would go right to the Clutch repair post if the machine shuts down in with a error code dC or uC.

That means the TDS is producing analog voltage swings +3.5VDC to 0VDC to the input of the Control Board Conn_P3 pins 10 and 11. Those DC voltage swings are at the design limit of max Wash Tub movement and the Control Board shuts the Spin Cycle down……..so thebTDS is working as designed.

The machine will make several attempts to redistribute the load before error code generation failing with dC or uC error codes.

Post back if you have questions any DIY'er with basic skill sets can do the Cluch maintenance/repair.....Rich

Error code of "dc" on my TL Maytag Neptune

If your machine is FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW the dc/UC errors are caused by a clutch malfunction. Your machine is shutting down with those errors so your Tub Displacement Sensor is working as designed.

Fix the Clutch malfunction and you can wash a single sock or a load of blue jeans and you will not take the dc or UC unbalance errors. See this post for the fix.

Post back if you have questions or need help.

UC code on my Maytag Neptune Washer FAV6800WW

HI. this uc code represents a no spin state of the unit. this is caused by a faulty Motor control assembly. you will need to replace the Motor control assembly. this will fix this issue and, restore the normal actions of the unit.

This Motor control assembly will cost about $219.00.

Will not finish last spin cycle or drain water out of tub.The letters "dc" flashes on the monitor.

The issue with dc/UC errors will only get worse. Take a look at this post and see if it will help you. Many owners of the FAV6800AW/FAV9800AW have experienced this issue. Root cause almost all the time is the one-way roller clutch bearings. There could be an issue with the Tub Displacement Sensor and there is a quick test for this I will attach the test in this post. If you have basic mechanical skill sets give it a try. I and others will try to help you thru the issue if you decide to go forward, post back if you have questions. Rich

3.0 Tub Displacement Sensor Diagnostics check.
It is possible the Tub Displacement Sensor may have failed try this check which is the Troubleshooting guide stored in your washer console or refer to the SM.

3a. Enter the Service Mode by pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”

3b. Press the Super Wash key display reads “in”…something like that.

3c. Press Delicates the Display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).

3d. Push tub to the back right corner of the machine the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). Release tub and the display will show “UC” (Unbalance Closed).

3e. Press Hand Wash.

3f. Pull tub to the front left corner while pushing the tub down the display should change to “UO” (Unbalance open). If you get these results your Tub Displacement sensor should be OK and I believe it’s not the component failure producing dc/UC errors in spin cycle. I would remove the clutch for inspection and re-lube. There is a more technical troubleshooting method to check Tub Displacement Sensor in the Troubleshooting guide and Service manual.

Dc error code just moved

Hello apalo14,
Do you think your FAV6800AW got jarred around in the move?
The FAV6800A/9800A Service Manual on Page 53 will take you thru the leveling process. I would check the front and rear struts to make sure they are supporting the tub correctly. You will have to raise the top of the washer page 33 of the SM will show you how to release the top of the washer. Page 41 will take you through front panel removal of two 5/16” screws. I would remove the front panel and check that tub is being supported by the front and rear struts properly see pages 40 thru 43. With the front cover removed check the mounting of the Tub Displacement Sensor page 42. If those checks all look good I would run the Tub Displacement Sensor check below, this test is detailed in the SM.
3.0 Tub Displacement Sensor Diagnostics check.

If you receive these results your Tub Displacement sensor should be OK.

If your machine does pass the Tub Displacement Sensor check and all of the above checks out then as unlikely as it may seem you may have a clutch issue. But let’s see what we have after the above checks are completed.

Wont finish washing cycle

suspect not draining. if not then problem could be the filter. at back, remove the small panel at the bottom. you will see a hose from the bottom of the tub to the pump. remove this hose at the tub end and the filter is inside.be carefull, if machine has not drained, a lot of water will come out. disconnect from mains of course
