Question about Kodak EasyShare V550 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Regina's camera I have a Kodak EasyShare V550 Digital. Worked great until...I dropped it from about 3 feet onto packed sand. Now I can still review the pictures I've taken, but when I go to take a new picture, the lens comes out then retracts. Is there any solution or did I trash the camera with one small drop?

Have a 4 gb sdhd card and cannot format it in kodak easyShare V550

The V550 uses MMC and SD cards, not SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and won't work. You need to go with MMC or SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

When the review button is pressed there is a command on the screen to format or replace the memory card.

If you do that, you will forever lose all of your pics. Use a separate card reader to download the pics to your computer. Then, format the card in the camera. 9ead11e.jpg

Kodak v550 digital camera

Hey akpssttt, I had the same problem with my kodak and even though I was able to turn on the camera, the lens would not come back in. So after awhile I just gave up took it to the repair shop and they still weren't able to fix it. So I left the camera for about a year now, gathering dust, but recently I decided to give another shot, and amazingly when I plug the camera into the charger, the lens went back in! And now the camera works perfectly.

So I would suggest you leaving your camera out for awhile and do not charge it until the batteries is completely drained. And then plug it back into the charger.

Hope this help.
