Question about Technics SL-1200MK2 Turntable
I have sl-1200mk2 and the signal does not come in as strongly through the red rca cable. I popped it open and the red rca contact point does look a bit let like one big secure blob. What should i do?

The first thing to is try to eliminate the cartridge as a cause of the fault. You can do this by swapping the connections around on the cartridge. If you get the weakness still on the Red cable you know it is that. Solder joints do cause trouble, often the earth is the problem. Try resoldering the joints. Or replace the entire cable as there might be a break.

The phono cable's do tend to fail, usually near the phono plug or under the cord clamp.
The best option is to replace the cable - look here :-
