Question about Panasonic PT-61LCX65 61" Rear Projection HDTV
We turned on our television this morning, it was only powered up for about three minutes when we heard a pop... slowly the picture dimmed then faded to black. We turned it off, unplugged it from the wall waited a minute then turned it back on. It makes it's usual whirring noise when powering up then there's only a clicking noise which seems to be coming from the lower left hand corner (near the power button). The clicking noise starts after the power up at the usual time when the picture would appear.
We've only had this set for about a year and a half and have not experienced any other issues with it.
Your problem more than likely lies in your lamp. The whirring noise you hear is the ballast trying to fire up the bad lamp. The lamp part # for your set is TY-LA1000 and can be purchased online at vance baldwin. This is something you can easily replace yourself and your owners manual will give you instructions. Hope this helps
