Hi. You may have a bad battery. This can cause lock ups. If it hasn't been replaced in the last 3 to 4 years, take it to a dealer to have the internal battery replaced. The battery will eventually leak all over the inside of the machine and damage it beyond repair. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

a service mode reset would probably fix this problem. turn the key counter clockwise two positions past program and then back to program.

INH. OPEN PR showing on my sharp cash register, model ER-A470. all buttons frozen etc

If all buttons are frozen then you have a hardware fault. The clear button should remove any error from the display so if it doesn't work at all, you need to have the keyboard checked.

I am programming a group of ER-A470 Sharp Cash registers. I am fine programing one, but how can i copy my information onto all the cashregisters I am using?

You are in luck. The 470 is one of the few registers that can transfer its programming to another machine. you will need a service key. Make sure one of your keys turns past PGM2 to where there is nothing written. If you don't have a service key, let me know. I can give you more information.

Sharp cash register (er-a470) won't turn on.

If the machine is dead, then you probably have a bad battery. It should be changed every 3 to 5 years by the dealer. If it has been left too long, then this is a common symptom and the machine loses all programming. Otherwise, you may have a faulty power supply or mode lock unit. It sounds like you need to see a dealer about it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sharp er-a330 cash register prob'

The Sharp ER-A330 and ER-A310 both have a calculator function that turned out to be just trouble for users who don't need it and don't know how to turn it off. At the bottom-left of the keyboard is a button labeled PO. Normally you enter a dollar amount and touch that to Pay Out money from the till. On these models it also activates the calculator mode, allowing you to add and subtract numbers without affecting sales.Touch PO to turn calculator mode back off, and you'll have a cash register again.
Let me know if this isn't the fix you need.
