Question about Fantech SHL48 Insert Range Hood
We live in a semi-detached home and we often smell our neighbours cooking come through our hood fan. We have taped the flu and have not used our fan and we still smell their cooking. Our damper is not stuck. Could you please help us!
It appears to me that each hood has a fan discharging air and odours into a common duct.
The only solution to me is to have a main exhaust fan at the very end of the duct continually sucking the air out of the duct. This way it will not allow the individual hood fans to pressurise the main duct, forcing the air to esape through the path of least resistance, which happens to be the neighboars hood.
It may be that such a fan is existent but switched off due to malfunction,or switched off for running costs reasons.
