It appears to me that each hood has a fan discharging air and odours into a common duct.
The only solution to me is to have a main exhaust fan at the very end of the duct continually sucking the air out of the duct. This way it will not allow the individual hood fans to pressurise the main duct, forcing the air to esape through the path of least resistance, which happens to be the neighboars hood.

It may be that such a fan is existent but switched off due to malfunction,or switched off for running costs reasons.

Why does my dryer smell like rotten cabbage?

I would suspect your "green" concoction got into the lint that "lives" inside the machine. Unbeknown to you, dryers have a lot of lint inside that is never cleaned, it just builds up.
In the last 20 dryers I have repaired, about 10 had a shoe-box or two full of lint inside.
Perhaps the mixture you added made mildew or mold accidentally in the lint nest.
Also, if you are in a complex and you'all have shared exhaust, perhaps it is someone elses problem.
You could take your dryer completely off the circuit and close off the "shared" vent system.
Then , see if that makes any difference.
I suppose you could also try to run your dryer inside your condo for 5 minutes to see if the smell is coming from your dryer when it is not hooked up to anyone elses.
If the smell is from yours, you will need to completely dismantle your machine to get every trace of lint and smell out.
God bless your efforts.

Ge hood insert zvc36l1ss fan comes on by itself. When not cooking?

The switch is bad. That makes it a possible fire or electrical hazard.

You should replace the switch immediately, or at least turn off the breaker that supplies power to the unit.

Don't let a broken $20 part be responsible for burning your home to the ground, fix it!

How do I get help for a bad smell around my home. it is driving me out off my home .maybe a drug cooker.

Call the police or county health dept. Your problem could be as little as a blocked drain or as big as the guy next door you haven't seen for a couple of weeks, dead in his arm chair!! Get online find your county health dept and make that call. If you have town gas to your property, mention that, that usually perks them up a bit.
Good luck.

My downdraft vent no longer removes cooking fumes and smells for days after cooking. We have changed the screens, but still have residue coming from the vent inside the cabinet. Does this vent need to

Remove the motor together with the blower wheel, go to the local self service car-wash and use the engine de-greaser cycle (if not available, buy a can at the auto supply, spray the fan blade and let sit for a while) and get all the grease of the fan blades. make sure the fan blades are cleaned thoroughly. the fan will now ran quietly and will remove all the grease away. in the future, clean the filters often.

Awful smell coming from refrg. ge told me there is no drip pan that i can access. any other solutions? model MBF1956KEG

I live in a trailer park and i didn't have a fridge. A neighbour went to a nursing home and left everything behind so i salvaged his fridge. He was taken by ambulance in january and by march or april i got the fridge. Everything in it had spoiled. The stench of rotted meat was very bad. The smell was similar to a slaughterhouse. Meat juices had gotten in-between the plastic panels. I washed what i could outside using quadrated ammonia, even TSP and hot water... nothing solved the problem. I reasoned that i needed ozone to destroy the smell. They rent ozone machines but a product like fabreeze is made of ozone so i tried that. I had to spray it a couple times over a few days using the one for surfaces. The smell completely disappeared.

If you are living in a apartment type accomodation it is possible you are influenced by your neighbour operating the same device.

Otherwise, it could be a garage opener or similar remote device like car keyless device which might be triggering it.

Worst case it could be a leaky device in the remote control receiver mounted in the ceiling fan. Occasionally it might be setting itself on. If it is a nuisance then best to replace the remote receiver. You can get it from the local Home Depot store.

My Sharp carousal microwave model R 1482 goes on and off on its own. When cooking the steam from boiling water will set the micro off like I am pushing buttons on it.

If it's just the hood vent exhaust fan coming on, that's normal due to a temperature sensor (the hood vent exhaust TCO / thermostat).

If other functions on the microwave are coming on, then the keypad and / or controls may be shorting due to moisture and / or heat, and that needs to be addressed.

You should always run the microwave oven's hood vent exhaust fan whenever you're cooking on the stove top.

If you do, and the trouble persists, I would suspect the controls.

The service manual is at our site and we have uploaded it here to help you.

Problem with cooker hood

Filters clean? Fan running? No clogs in the exhaust?

On the one hand, you want the disagreeable stuff out of the kitchen - on the other hand, you want to keep your heated or cooled home air to stay inside.

My Bathroom Extractor Fan does not work properly and for some reason the bathroom smells of cigarette smoke when the upstairs neighbours are at home!! Our landlord say's this is not possible!!!

Yes, very possible!. The bathroom fan is connected together, and the upstairs one is down-drafting to you. Have the exhaust checked for blockage, or buy a fan that has a built-in damper that closes the exit when not in use.

Vibrating Noise and Electrical Smell

The noise and smell usually come from a bad transformer. If the magnetron has burned out usually the transformer will need to be replaced as well. The transformer is right behind the grille on the right hand side.
