Printer won't take my Ilford Gold Fiber Silk

My Epson 4800 printer won't take my Ilford Gold Fiber Silk. It is a 17x22 sheet and I am feeding it in through the tray. I have it set at all the right settings. It is also set for Wide Platen Gap to deal with the paper thickness. Why isn't it working!

Hello can you assist I can not figure out why the CX8310 Epson printer won't allow me to feed paper into it.

  • If paper doesn't feed, remove it from the sheet feeder. Reload it against the right edge, behind the tabs, then slide the left edge guide against the paper. Make sure the paper is not in front of the feeder guard.
  • If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.
  • Don't load too many sheets at once (up to 20 sheets of photo paper, 80 sheets of Premium Bright White paper, or 100 sheets of plain paper).

The paper feed is not working properly - either does not pick up first sheet or feeds it in out of alignment (crooked)

You have to clean the two pickup wheels with some stickey paper. ie the cleaning paper that comes with epson archival matte paper. Out of a lot of them I make my own with two sticky stibes on. Run then several times. Then it work. When you are done. stop using the paper you are using. I stopped using Tetenal because it had some very fine white stuff on that made this problem.

Epson CX7800 3 in one printer feeds mulltiple sheets.

This is usually caused by a dirty or dented feed roller.

The feed roller is the black wheel that has s flat side to it above the paper tray. Try using a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to clean it. Then give it another whirl.

As with the ink on the paper. This is usually caused by leaky printheads. Epson printers are notorious for having the printheads die on them, but usually from the ink drying out. Check and see if the bottom of the printhead can be reached and cleaned by Q-tip or cotton swab. Give it a good cleaning using rubbing alcohol. Don't go over board as the alcohol will dilute the ink.

When i front feed ilford gold 13X19 into my epson r2880 (landscape) the bottom and left edges bleed into the white borders. what is causing this?

Most probably it wrong ways of feeding in cause such problems. Read the manual for the correct intructions on how to front feed the paper. If that dosn'y solve then its problem with the toner or catridge. Try replacing them.
If the problem still persists contact the customer support.

    Thank you.

Paper pulls to right and bunches up when loading

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
    Hope this helps. Bud

Photo paper jam on Stylus 4800

Here are some things to try. Place no more that 15-20 sheets in the printer, ensure they are fully to the right of the carriage and the paper is held securely on the left. You may wish to 'fan' the paper to ensure it will flow freely.
