Question about Computers & Internet

Hi...have just failed the Convergys call centre home voice test and it may be due to your firewall. I have disengaged my own. One of the reasons as stated by Convergys might be this firewall problem....if not then possibly this: If you have a voip Service your voip/phone Adaptor may have reserved the standard sip port and is filtering out our sip packets. Consider temporarily removing the Adaptor from your configuration and re-running the test. Can you help me with the firewall. How do I disengage it temporarily

Possibly remove it, take pictures first so you can put it back in.

Hi, my Polar A360 Device show sync failed but update why

It means that it was not able to get the files you want onto it. But it was able to get software up to date. It can fail for a verity of reasons. Perhaps due to a faulty connection, either physical or if wi-fi is used, a dropping of signal. Maybe an incorrect file was selected, or the sync was cut off by the user or something else interfering such as firewalls.

Voices are unclear on audio when watching a DVD in our Samsung surround sound. What can we do.

Hi Mary

It sounds like, to me, your centre (center!) speaker has become disconnected.

In a 5.1 (or more) setup, the majority of voices come through this center channel - and without it, you'll hardly hear any voices, other than those which are not the 'focus' and are to either side.

Have a look on your remote controller for a 'Test Tone' button, which should cycle through all the speakers and play a noise - you'll probably find 'center' is quiet. If it is, check the wires - should be a simple repair!

Good luck :)

UBX Home Theater System

It sounds like a problem with your centre channel or speaker. The sound of Voices and on-screen, actions in the middle of the screen are played through the centre speaker. General sounds such as music in the background, off-screen events, etc. will be played through other speakers on a home theatre system. Check your connectors coming from your DVD player to your sound system. Are you using a single-cabled digital connector or one for every channel? Check your sound settings as well, i.e., Surround, AC3, Music, etc.

Car runs rough at start up backing up

stalls. is the word
the engine stalls not car. err both.
and is what and A/T automatic,
this very low engine power.
idle control failures.
only 2 , macro reasons.
1: weak engine (50 causes)
2: ISC dead. (i didnt say bad, many reasons for ISC system to fail
one reason is #1, the ISC can not make a weak engine strong,

a weak engine, is just that , due to misfiring (gross) or way lean
one cause of 50 , is EGR stuck open,
A good tech finds out easy 1 or 2.? reason.
doing simple test. ask.

it's like a water faucet at home.
you open it (ECU) the valve, (ISC) and no flow, or weak? seen?
is it the valve bad? or the water company failure.?
we do tests. ask, if DIY person, the tests can go for hours.

I have nikon L20 and because of some reason the lens has stuck out , its not going in at all and an error message is shown on the screen "lens error". I am from a small town I got this digi cam...

The lens error is due to failure of the lens control system. You can remove battery and card replace battery and while switching on tap the lens hood on your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.
get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the Nikon service as you do not have to run around for spares.

You can turn off the Windows.

If using win vista >go to control panel > choose classic view > Look for Windows firewall > on the upper left side go to Turn windows Firewall on or off > then turn off the firewall.

if using another windows OS > go to control panel and look for Windows Firewall then almost same thing.

Hi There Frosted. Most common reasons for Voice Coil Fracturing is due to amplifier signal being square wave or heavely over driven. Voice coil heats up and thus comes apart from the former. Another reason that I have found to cause this problem is if the box that you are using is not correct for your woofer. Hence you have to jack up the gain on your amplifier to get the sound you want instead of letting the box do the work with its effeciancy. Check battery power also. When you are playing your system, put a multi meter on your battery erminals and make sure that your voltage does not drop below 10.5 Volts. Preferably 11 Volts. Hope this helps.

If you were refering to your actual voice coil breaking away from the woofers spider assembly, then you need to check the rated power on your amplifier vs the required power on your sub. Box also plays a great factor for this problem for the same reasons as mentioned above.

I can't call pc to pc

It may have some causes:- First, check your internet connection. You should run the Call Setup Assistant before making voice calls for the first time. To run the Call Setup Assistant: Open the "Messenger" menu in the main Yahoo! Messenger window, and click "Preferences." Then, in the Preferences dialog box, click "Calling and Audio." In the Calling and Audio dialog box, click "Open the Call Setup Assistant." Follow the instructions to test your microphone and speakers and specify your Internet connection. Running the Call Setup Assistant will ensure that you have a high-quality voice experience within Yahoo! Messenger. You can run the Call Setup Assistant at any time to make sure your microphone and speakers are working properly or to change the type of Internet connection you are using. One important thing, your firewall must support outbound TCP (transmission control protocol) connections for the PC-to-PC voice feature to work. You might have a firewall blocking Yahoo! Messenger's PC-to-PC voice feature. If so, you need to open up some outgoing TCP connections. Note that it is the outgoing connections that matter, not incoming connections. In most firewalls, you have to specify a destination port or port range to open. Learn more about which ports Yahoo! Messenger uses. Even if you don't use a firewall, your Internet service provider (ISP) may use a firewall, a network address translator (NAT), or a proxy server that blocks voice traffic. Any of these could prevent you from using the PC-to-PC voice feature in Yahoo! Messenger. Please contact your ISP's network administrator for assistance getting around these issues. You must know that what ports are used by Yahoo! Voice services. Yahoo! Messenger with Voice will work if any one of these TCP ports are open: 5061, 443, 80. At least one of these ports must be open in order to make PC-to-PC or PC-to-phone (Phone Out) calls, or to receive calls (Phone In). If your connection to the web is through an http proxy, then you won't be able to make or receive calls with your PC. Hope it was helpful!
