The Seal on the upper lid is melting and melts the bags so it won't seal. Can I get a replacement seal for VS150?

If your vacuum cleaner gets hot enough to melt it's own parts, i think you have a problem. exesive heat could indicate a serious problem and might also cause a fire. try having it checked by a repair shop because replacing the seal and continuing to use it might be dangerous.

My seal a meal won't seal the bags. I have tried using premade bags and hand cut bags. It sucks the air out but will not heat up to seal.

There is either a blown fuse in the heater circuit or a bad heater filament, you can take it apart to see but there is no diagram or parts list on something like this, replace it.

I have wasted quit a bit of the bags because the food saver is not sealing completely. It leaves a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch unsealed therefore I can not vacuum seal. What am I doing wrong

Try making a seal with nothing liquid in bag, check seal on bag after. If seal looks good it could just be liquid getting on seal area causing it not to seal. There are tips online on how to help prevent this (example: placing rolled up paper towel sheet). If seal still looks bad than you may have a bad spot on the heat seal wire.

Why my foos saver is not sealing

I've found with mine I have to hold down firmly on the top while unit is heating the bag to seal it. I continue to hold the lid down for about 10 seconds after heating stops until the seal cools. Hope this helps.

Outer Oreck xl bag is full of dirt

Make sure that your bag is pushed all the way past the lip on the connector tube and that the "U" shaped part of the plastic assembly is in it's slot behind that lip, or it will not seal properly and you will get dust into the outer bag.

Kirby upright smells like a foot. Changed the bags. We had to move it to the garage for storage beacuse it made the closet smell like bad shoes. Gets strong when used

Check the brush for accumulated hair, and other debris. If the brush is belt driven check the condition of the belt, over time the rubber deteriorates and melts when heated up during use creating a burning rubber odor.

I purchased a Seal-A-Meal roll to make my own bags but can't figure out how to use it. I have a model VS108. Is it possible to seal without vacuuming?

On most models of vacuum sealing systems, you cut off the roll the size of bag you need. Slip one open end of the bag just on top of the heating element over it about 1/8-1/4" and press down the lid to seal the bottom of the bag. Fill the bag and then place the open end far enough into the vacuum cavity over the heating element and close the lid and press down and hold until the cycle finishes. If you don't want a vacuum, just put enough bag material to cover the heating element but not into the vacuum cavity. Hope this helps

I have a canister vacuum. I replaced the bag and now can otn get a good suction. Could it be the rubber seal near the bag?

The case that encloses the bag may not have been closed properly, or a part of the bag got caught in the seal of the case. Take the bag out and reinstall. Hope this helps!

Take apart and see if wires are connected That is what was wrong w/ mine. Soldered wire now works fine.

Motor shaft getting really hot

Open up the area where the beater is with the belt off. Turn the beater by hand...if it turns hard, the bearings are jammed up with old grease or debris. You'll have to deal with that.
