Your computer cannot boot up because it cannot find a boot up program from any of your boot devices.
This fault could be caused by a faulty hard disk or you have a non-boot floppy disk in the floppy drive. In this case remove the floppy disk and boot up your computer again.
If the hard disk is faulty, replace the hard drive and install Windows on the new hard drive, plus the computer's device drivers and your programs to get the computer operating again.

Install windows 95 from floppy

Microsoft Windows 95 employs the use of a bootable floppy disk to begin the installation of the Windows 95 operating system or to troubleshoot problems with the system. Microsoft Windows 95 uses the MS-DOS system to boot the computer first and then loads the Windows 95 operating system onto the machine. Windows 95 Boot Disks may be created in one of two ways: The Startup disk may be created from within Windows or a boot disk may be created from a free downloaded boot disk image. After the boot disk is created the disk may be used to boot the computer and install or troubleshoot Windows 95.

Click "Start" and then click "Settings" in Windows 95. Click the "Control Panel" option. Click "Add and Remove Programs." Click "Startup Disk" and then click "Create." Insert the blank floppy disk into the disk drive. Click "OK." The operating system will create the Windows 95 boot disk. Click "OK" when the disk is finished. Create the Windows 95 Boot Disk using Downloaded Boot Disk Image Open a Web browser and navigate to the boot disk image site (See "Below"). http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm Download the Windows 95 boot disk image and save the .EXE file to the desktop. Click the .EXE file to unzip the enclosed files. The formatting application will start. Insert the blank floppy disk into the disk drive and click "OK." The Windows 95 boot image will be created on the blank floppy disk. Use the Windows 95 Boot Disk Insert the Windows 95 boot up disk into the computer's floppy disk drive. Power the computer down by clicking "Start" and then clicking "Shutdown." Power on the computer with the Windows 95 boot disk in the floppy disk drive. The computer will boot up into MS-DOS to enable installation or troubleshooting of Windows 95.

Maybe you can try this.....IF you have Windows 7 Operating System...AND If you have previously made an "External Start-up /Repair Disk" for your PC....While the PC is running, insert it into your external CD-ROM disk drive, then shut down/restart your PC. I have had to use this external Startup/Repair Disk several times with my Windows 7 system when it had problems...or the PC just would not boot up....and it corrected my Win7 operating system start-up system / software problems successfully. Hope fully your PC Bios "setup" is setup to go look at the external drive during startup mode to see if their is a "boot" disk in there. Your PC Manual should tell you how to change the PC Bios system Setup so that when you start it up, the PC will look at the external CD-ROM drive for the presence of a boot-up start program like the Windows External Start/Repair disk.

Hope this helps. Gary
This Startup/Repair Disk is created by the PC User after early operatation the PC operating system... based on instruction manual from the PC maker. If you have Windows 7 and did NOT make this external startup/repair CD-ROM disk...I recommend you do that ASAP...and try it out.

When I switch on my pc,it tells me disk boot failure insert system disk and press enter. I have XP proffessional sp3 but only have a xp home disk.

If your computer has just been formatted, your computer might require you to insert the boot CD

to be able to run it. You might hence get the error message Disk Boot Failure- Insert disk and

press enter displayed on the screen every time you will try to run it. This might be linked

to:

* 1. The boot options not correctly set in BIOS
* 2. A non bootable CD is found in your CD drive
* 3. You do not possess any bootable device
* 4. You have installed a new hard disk
* 5. The hard disk is not properly plugged
* 6. Your system files have been infected

Get more help and information for Disk Boot Failure. Hope this helps you....

How to reset your whole computer to the point where your machine starts all over

Be sure to make a "backup" of all your files & music & E-mail before you start to reinstall.

Take the set of "System Restore" CD/DVD disks that came with your computer.
Insert the first of those disks into your CD-drive.
If it does not prompt you to reinstall,
then reboot your computer, and tell it to "boot" *FIRST* from the CD-drive. Follow the on-screen directions to reinstall everything.

Windows 2000mag-glass_10x10.gif boot disks allow you to by-pass damaged Windows 2000 operating system files to get your computer up and running in a solid, stable configuration. You simply tell the computer to access the Windows 2000 codes necessary for start-up from your floppy disk drive rather than the hard drive. Creating the set of four boot disks is specific to this version of the operating system
  1. Step 1 Insert the Windows 2000 Professional CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Insert a formatted, blank diskette into the floppy disk drive. Have three additional formatted, blank diskettes standing by.
  2. Step 2 Click "Start" at the bottom left corner of your computer screen to open the start-up menu. This lists the start-up actions available for Windows 2000. Select "Run." The program then asks you to designate the drive, program, folder or file you want to open by either typing the destination or clicking "Browse," to select the destination from the Windows 2000 directory.
  3. Step 3 Click the "Browse" button at the bottom of the pop-up window. The PC's hard drivemag-glass_10x10.gif directory window appears.
  4. Step 4 Browse the computer's hard drive directory and select the CD-ROM drive to designate it as the destination you want to open. Click "OK" to open the CD-Rom drive. The folders and files saved on the Windows 2000 CD now appear in the directory format.
  5. Step 5 Select the "Bootdisk" folder. A directory of files appears.
  6. Step 6 Double-click the program file "Makeboot.exe," then click "OK" to launch the Windows 2000 boot disk maker program. The program checks that you have a formatted diskette in the floppy disk drive and then begins to make the boot disk.
  7. Step 7 Watch your screen as the process of making the boot disk progresses. The boot disk for Windows 2000 requires four diskettes. The program cues you to remove the first diskette and insert the second, and so on until all four diskettes are created and the boot disk making process is finished.
