Question about Dell E173FP 17" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
I purchased this monitor a few years ago and had a problem with a short in the power cord where it attaches immediately. I should have sent it back to dell, but got it to work and never moved the monitor, so it stayed put. My son recently moved it about an inch out and now I can't get it to work at all. It has snapping sounds at the cord junction and won't even flash on.
Look for bad solder joints, common problem due to poor design (the AC inlet is held in place by three solder joints, it should have been screw-mounted to the chassis)
