Scott, To transfer your number from your Old Service Provider to TracFone Wireless, you must ask TracFone to Port your existing telephone number. TracFone Wireless will process the request for you. During this process, your service with your current provider will be disconnected automatically and Activated with the new provider you have selected. There is no need for you to call your current provider to disconnect your service. During the Request process, you will still be able to place calls on your existing wireless telephone or wire line phone. You, however, will not be able to receive calls during the porting process.

they change simcard wrting codes every 6months or when new phones comes out. I had the same problem when i updated my phone,,,new phone have simcards that will only work with the new phone you buy, you will have to have them transfer everything over from your old simcard to your new phone. And they have programs that can do that, so if they say they cant, then possibly they are lying and dont wanna do it. I went to a aftermarket used cell phone store in Sacremento, and they did it for free.
The original SIM has all your account information stored on it. The new SIM card must be activated either by transferring your your number to it or starting a new line. The only way I know of to do this is to call customer care from a landline with your SIM id. number and the phone number and name of the account holder.
When on a call you would like to transfer, try pressing the FEATURE button then dial 70 followed by the extension number you are transferring to. Typically the transfer button is one of the programmable buttons, try pressing the FEATURE button then dial *0 and press one of the programmable buttons to identify what it is programmed as.
Your Mxit profile is stored on Mxit's Server, Install Mxit onto your phone, and login with your old cell number and your mxit password, if you do not know your mxit password, you will not be able to get your old mxit profile on your phone, as you need your old simcard to get the password. If you have your old simcard, sms pin and your mxit id to 34006, this will only work for South Africa
Thats because you dident save your contact on the simcard, you contactlist is on the phonememory.
Put the simacard back in your old phone and save your contactlin on the simcard, them move the simcard to your new phone..and viola! there they are!
Good luck
