I need detailed instructions on how to change light bulb on Kitchenaid microwave KBMC147HSS0

Please check the details of how a microwave works which will help you identify before the panel is removed and the lamp replaced.
The top cover of the unit can be removed after the screws can be removed with the power cord removed. The lamp can be seen fitted on the front side with the light to shine into the chamber, you can remove the buld from holder and replace with the same type .

I have a kitchenaid microwave model KBMC140HSS01 that has a burned out light bulb. I don't have any idea how to get to the bulb to replace it or even where the bulb really is. Can you please tell me what...

You would need to probably open the cover. Once all the screw is taken out the cover just slides back and it should be freed. You will then see where the light bulb is which is usually on top.

I need to rplace the bulb in the interior of the microwave. It's loose in the top housing.

some of the front(vent) covers have a sliding hook I think you need to push it to the left. You should be able to access the bulb when you get that off.

Kitchenaid microwave bulb

You can download the owner's manual and installation instructions here.

You can also download the parts manual here. It has handy exploded views. The bulb is shown on page 5 and is ref # 75.

You will need these instructions, because to replace the bulb, you will need to pull the microwave down from the wall mount and remove its cover.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

And it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

Once it's out of the wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll need to do on a counter top model.

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

If you don't find a replacement locally, check here.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Kitchenaid KBMC147HSS0 Bulb replacement

If it's the one that lights the cooktop, it's normally beneath the bottom cover.

In some cases, it's located in a compartment behind the grille that goes across the top of the unit.

I have a diagram at my site which helps you find & replace many GE cooktop and cavity light bulbs. It may help. It's at http://207.234.249.73/mwd/ge_lamp_replacement.jpg

Please let me know if that helps or not.
