......... sorry haven't got a solution but exactly the same problem started with my HF2315. Looking at the belt drive mechanism, it's most likely caused by a slipped / broken cable or a failed hydrostatic unit. I'm going to try edjusting the cable to see if I can take up the slack with the spring. If not, then it's over to a service centre :(

Why isn't something engaging when accelerator pressed?

It would help to know more information about the mower in question. Walk behind push mower? walk behind self-propelled mower/ Riding lawn mower? Lawn tractor? Or goat...just kidding...lol. The engine horse -power or cc's and make of the mower and engine. Anything happen before the problem or was it straight out of storage. Does the gas pedal feel normal? Could you be talking about the forward/ reverse pedal? These types don't engage by depressing them, they engage by releasing the pedal.
I'm going to guess you have a riding lawn mower or lawn tractor. The pedal for those types of mowers controls the transaxle ( rear wheels, transmission and differential basically). If the pedal move properly and it was working ok when it was stored, then check to see if you can push it with little effort. On most transaxles there is a disconnect rod to disengage the transaxle for towing the mower without damaging it. Pulled out for disengaged and in for engage. If that all checks out it could be very low on transmission fluid or the drive belt might be off or broken depending on which type you have. If it is low on fluid, you have a leak. Hope this helps.

When mowing today i press drive pedal mow would not go forward or reverse

what kind of mower do you have? make and model would help, if its a riding mower check to see if your disengagement lever is pushed in, on some models the lever can come out of the transmission so make sure its in the lever on the transmission. then I would check your drive belt and tensioner.

Hi. I have an Alko T18-102HD ride on lawn mower that is starting to go very slow in reverse and forward. It gets to the point of slowing to a stop when reversing up a slope. I fitted a new drive belt...

I had the same problem with my Alko going slow in forward and reverse. Believe it or not the problem is caused by a build up of grass cuttings around the hydro clutch mechanism. If you follow the mechanism from the foot pedal you will probably find the actuator is being prevented from engaging by a build up of old grass. Clean it out and you should find it restores normal operation. This has happened to me a few times so now I blow out the grass on a regular basis with an air compressor which stops me having any problems. It also stops a hefty bill from the service dealer :-)

Troy built lawn mower (riding) won't go full

I did not know riding mower had a gas pedal. I know if you leave the throttle control up all the way the engine will choke out. The pedal you are pushing, I think, is the forward/reverse hydrostatic transmission. You may need a new drive belt. The one you have now may be stretched out.
Good Day.

The drive pedal is stuck forward and wont budge along with the brake pedal...

Drop mower deck and have a look.
Both rods run to the rear on the right side.
Possibly something interfering.
