I would make sure that all the cables are securely connected to both the monitor and the pc computer (screwing the screws from the cable to the port will help hold the cable in). Beyond that, the issue is likely with the monitor and not something that can be fixed by the end user.

If the device is still in warranty (and checking the cables don't work). I would recommend sending it back to ViewSonic to have it fixed.

Im sorry you did not feel that my response was helpful; I would be more than happy to help you resolve this issue. I will need some more information to help you resolve this problem.

    the issue you are experiencing with your monitor is likely a loose connection (whether its a loose cable on the outside or a loose wire connecting something on the inside), that being said;

Have you checked all the cables associated with the monitor (both video and power) to ensure that one of them isn't knocked loose?

If so, the problem is within the monitor itself, and I recommend that you attempt to return it to the store where you got it if their return policy allows. If that isnt an option, I looked in to the warranty, and it seems that you have a 3 year warranty for that monitor provided you can show proof of purchase, see their website for more information.

If you have any questions, please let me know, I will be more than happy to answer them.

    Thanks,
    Mike

If it's too dark to see the menu to adjust the brightness, it's a bad backlight - send it back!

A 15-inch CRT monitor? It's time to responsibly recycle it, and buy a 17-inch LCD monitor, because _nobody_ fixes CRT monitors any more.

LCD monitor (viewsonic va720) "No signal"

You will need to disconnect the VGA cord that is connecting the monitor to the hard drive. Once you have that disconnected, try attaching another cord to determine if the cord is the issue. If you dont have another cord to test, then you will have to purchase another one from your local computer parts store and attach to determine if that is the issue you are having.

If the cord does not work, then you will have to take your monitor into a repair shop as there maybe an issue with the receiving port on the monitor.

I hope this was helpful and thanks for asking the experts.

Sudden black out/ shut off from time to time

Sounds like you have a video card issue. You will need to replace your video card in your PC..Also, you can take another monitor and hook it up to your PC to see if you get the same results

Issue with my 17" Viewsonic VA1716w LCD monitor

If all the buttons on the front don't work I would beleive it was a cable that is not connected correctly. I've seen things like this happen on otherwise perfectly good equipment. It's probably an easy fix however, monitors have enough power to KILL YOU (dead not a little bit very dead) if your not sure what your doing find someone who is most things I encourage you to open up and play with but not monitors. (did I mention you could die)

Be careful

About a problem in my viewsonic monitor

Hi

Actually the common problem of viewsonic LCD monitor is bad electrolytic capacitor at primary, secondary & inverter area, if your lcd using power adaptor test the voltage out, use analog or digital tester range 50v dc, if the voltage out is accurate dont be sure to your adaptor working good, open it and find bad electrolytic capacitor inside. That is common problem of viewsonic LCD monitor could cause of display flashing then back to black after few seconds. Suspect inverter area lastly mainboard.

Gud Luck!
