My ps2 does not read any disk

first, make sure the disks themselves are clean and free of scratches. often as not a disk read error on a PS2 is because of dirt. if the disk has a blue back, however, there's a special proceedure to get them to run (the blue ones are still in CD format instead of DVD)

For your PS2 to read copies it needs a mod chip or an action replay device.

Check the discs. Or try cleaning the PS2, it's pretty risky, but they have videos on YouTube. Cleaning it usually solves the problem, it helped me out.

I had a problem like this before. If you look underneath the games some will have a silverr colour while others will have a puple colour. My old Ps2 would only play the silverish games while it wouldnt recognise the purple ones.

Well first off, make sure the disk if in PS1 OR PS2 format. That is what the PS2 Is requesting when it says "Please insert Playstation or Playstation 2 format disk. The Slim PS2 has various problems reading disk.(Don't Know why? I own it and Know it does). The Fat version(1st version) is a much better system, in my opionion. Try blowing air to clean the disk reader. Or changing the disk reader portion out, At a small price.

Your laser need to be adjusted or calibrate.If you have a ps2 old model is a common issue.Look around on youtube for some tutorial and if the adjusting will not work you need a new laser.Slimline Machine can not be adjusted but need new laser

try running it with the ps2 upside down? if not then the fault in the game if all the outhers work

i have had the same problem and i just kept using my disc cleaner and polisher and after a few times it work. if that didn't work get a laser disc cleaner for your ps2

Check your disk for scratches fingerprints ect,,
if thats all good step two
try useing a lens cleaner


****(( tip and trick for scratched disks ))****
a crayon rubbed on the disk then wiped off with a lint free cloth
no t-shirts dish towels that will just add more scratches
remember start at the center wipeing out to the edge.

if none of that works you may have a lens problem

ps2 discs are region locked ps3 games are not so are some dvds the are region locked if you seriously want to play the ps2 games buy them from japan
