There are basically two types that I have seen one is spring loaded (this has limited travel and once the spring has fully expanded that's it, the other is a two part rod that you take either side of the split and turn in opposite directions this loosens the rod so you can move it out. You hold the rod so both ends are touching either side and twist each section in opposite direction this tightens the ends against the wall the more you twist the tighter it gets. I hope this helps. Good Luck and have a great day. Jeff

How do you replace 2008 Mercedes Benz C300 belt tensioner

Use a 17mm socket on the knob on the front of the belt tensioner (kind of hidden below the pulley) to pull the tensioner to its end stop. You then want to put a 3 or 4 mm thick rod into the locking hole to keep the tensioner in place so you can get to the2 mounting bolts. Simply remove the bolts and install the new tensioner in the reverse order. This linked page has a pick that clearly shows the locking rod and adjusting knob: Mercedes Benz CLASS Belt Tensioner OE 2722000070 272 200 00 70

Replace rod bearings

Undo the big end caps and make sure that you keep them as units as they will not interchange with each other press on the end of the shell that does not have a tab sticking out. and press it down so that it slides around and out . Clean out the cap and con rod end before fitting new shells in place . Fit the tag end first and when almost in you may hear a small snap as they go into place proper.. The cap will only go together in one way so the numbers or marks will be together. If you have the motor apart make sure that the con rod is fitted in the right direction.

How to change outer tie rod end

Jack up the front of the vehicle remove the wheel. Put a jack stand or similar under the side of the vehicle , dont just rely on the jack to hold it up. remove the split pin from the nut on the joint. Crack off the locking nut from the tie rod to the end. Dont undo it just back it off less than 1/4 turn. Undo the nut that the split pin came out of. Leave it on a couple of threads. place a rod,bar or lever of some kind to put pressure on the tie rod end away from its position . The end has a tapered fit where you have undone the nut. Hit the side of the steering arm that the rod end goes through with a hammer. You will need to hit it quite hard a few times ,this will jar the tie rod out of the taper. Take the nut right off then unscrew the rod end from the tie rod. Place the new and old tierod end together to make sure they are identicle. screw the new joint onto the tie rod to the same position the old one was. place the tapered end through the steering arm. tighten the nut then fit the new split pin. Tighten the lock nut on the tie rod to the rod end. If it is a greasable joint grease it with a grease gun. You may wish to have a front wheel alignment done. Replace the wheel and let the vehicle down. Happy motoring. If this has been usefull Please Vote Jeff

its because that model usually when u pull for the shower is not properly connected. You will have to remove handle and coverplate, then shine flashlight down to see what is happening when pulling rod on tub spout for shower. Usually its broken or bent and just needs new one installed. It cost me 2 buck for new shower rod. Directions u can get free from Moen with free lifetime parts.

Am changing the inner tie rod on a 2000 cirrus with a 2.5 and cant figure out how to get old one off

to get the inner tie rod out you need an inner tie rod tool, it's a long tube that fits a 1/2 inch drive rachet and there's different size adaptors that go into the end of it to fit over the tie rod, find the right size put into tool, put over tie rod and brake it loose, reverse for installtion.
