How do I syncronise time & chimes together - Seiko Mantel Clock

Posted by on

  • John Glassco Nov 14, 2013

I have a Seiko Quartz W-W Chime wall clock (Model QX217A) with the same problem. There is no red button, only two small black buttons labelled "AM" and "PM", aside from the usual time adjust wheel and the switch to select the chime type. Any suggestions?

Each press of the red button advances the chime count by one. Advance the chime count to match the face clock hour.

How to set a classic manor quartz west minister wall clock to chime at the correct time.

Hello Fern Hicks,

Short of ORDERING IN A NEW movement I
would rather try removing the hands... and placing them where they are chime appropriate...

I'm sure there are more convoluted ways of accomplishing the same thing... but I so old & clock oriented... I only turn clocks & timers in the FORWARD direction (very OLD school).

Remove the minutes hand (from where-ever it strikes)...
Move the hour hand (only if necessary & replace the minute hand as appropriate to the movement strike.

Under the dash on the left hand side but if there was a wire plug on old seat buckle should be able to loop circuit together so acts like seat belt is always hooked

My Gazo GF Clock won't chime on hour at all

When you are setting your clock, when you go pass the hour you have to let the clock chime completely, if you do not do this you can damage the time sequence..You have to reset the chime cable or belt...but anytime you set your clock when you get to hour let it chime completely before continuing on...Try also going around with hour hand onetime and let it chime, if it will chime at all, if not you can get a manual download online. Clocks like yours has websites and support who can help you...I think it just needs the chimes reset.

I have a metamec grandmother clock it chimes 4min early have tried to syncronise it but it still chimes early

If your clock has a round arbour push fit hand it is quite easy to sync. Undo the nut and the minute hand will drop off easily, then gently but firmly pull the hour hand from the centre so as not to put pressure on the hand itself. As soon as the clock chimes, replace the hand exactly on the hour corresponding to the amount of strikes, replace the minute hand pointing exactly to 12 o'clock and replace the nut.
If the hour hand has a square fit arbour and held on by a rivet it is a bit more complicated and I would suggest you take it to your local clockmaker.

    D641/BLR DOOR CHIME CHANGE CHANNELS

Open the back of the door chime and the button press.

On the back of both of them there is a set of jumpers.

From left to right there are 6 available frequencies. You need to grab to jumpers to join 2 of the pins together (top and bottom pin). If you don't have a jumper just use a set of pliers and cross the 2 pins together (top and bottom pins) on a channel you wish to use. Repeat the process for the button press if you've just done the door chime. The 2 pins that you've joined together needs to be the same as you've just done for the door chime.

Note the red jumper on the button press, selects the type of door chime you want to hear. this is the 4 right hand side pins on the button press. The far right is a long chime and second in from the far right is a shorter chime.

Hope this helps, figured it out by trial and error. :)

Door chime will not go off..chimes all the time............

You probably need to remove the door pin switch, clean the rust or paint off of the area where it has to make contact & reinstall. This is a ground (-) switch that completes the circuit to the chime once grounded. (door closed) Make a quick check of all doors & be sure one of these hasn't been broken.

When you close the door does the dome light turn off? You may have 2 pins, one controls the dome & one the door signal/alarm, or they may be combined. (even similar models at times have small differences) A visual inspection should reveal the answer to this. If you're not familiar, the pins are located under a small rubber button & normally are held in with 1 screw once the rubber part is carefully removed. Once you've removed this & cleaned the area for contact, use dielectric grease, or some lubricant to seal the area once connected again. You should be able to leave the door open, push in on the button with the key in the ignition & the chime should stop. The chime can't complete the circuit if the soor switch is working properly with the door closed & if it is working then would be defective.
    Good luck

    I need calibrate Tissot t-touch

Syncronisation sequence is in the user manual. syncronisation is as follows.. 1) Press T to activate touch system. 2)touch the screen centre to show units display. 3)hold T button for approx 5 secs till the hands point to 12o clock. 4)use the + & - buttons to control the minute and hour hands... you must syncronise them both to 12 oclock exactly. 5)when you have them both pointing to 12 exactly, press the T button to finish the sync. the hands will now go back to the time. If the hands often go out of sync, the battery is probably worn and will at some stage the 'bat' warning will appear. (this initially only flashes every 20 secs, so watch the display for over 20 secs to see the 'bat' warning. eventyually this becomes permanant display). Batteries normally last about 6 years
