Where is the clear bios jumper in my mis k9n6pgm-FI motherboard

JBAT1 is right next to the SATA2 connector.

Clear CMOS Jumper: JBAT1
There is a CMOS RAM on board that has a power from external battery to keep the data of system
configuration. With the CMOS RAM, the system automatically boot OS every time it is turned on. If you
use the JBAT1 (Clear CMOS Jumper) to clear data. Follow the instructions below to clear the
data:

You can clear CMOS by shorting 2-3 pin while the system is off. Then return to 1-2 pin position.
Avoid clearing the CMOS while the system is on; it will damage the mainboard.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

To reset my bios password

If you cannot access the machine after if has been powered up, it is still possible to get past the BIOS password. The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard.

If you remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine. The machines owner or user will most likely be alarmed when it is discovered that the BIOS password has been deleted.

On some motherboards, the battery is soldered to the motherboard, making it difficult to remove.

If this is the case, you have another alternative. Somewhere on the motherboard you should find a jumper that will clear the BIOS password.

If you have the motherboard documentation, you will know where that jumper is. If not, the jumper may be labeled on the motherboard. If you are not fortunate enough for either of these to be the case, you may be able to guess which jumper is the correct jumper. This jumper is usually standing alone near the battery. If you cannot locate this jumper, you might short both of the points where the battery connects to the motherboard.

If all else fails, you may have to clear the BIOS password by resetting the RTC (Real Time Clock) IC (Integrated Circuit) on your motherboard.

Acer aspire m5460 the power light comes on and the DVD turns or makes a sound like it is turning, but nothing to the screen like the BIOS are not booting up.

Open the case and take out the RAM (memory) then put it back, take out the CD/DVD if any. Now turn on your PC again. If still no luck try other solution, witch you should Clear Bios or CMOS, by either resetting a jumper on the motherboard itself.

Not good. You have to go to a professional and have the cmos resetted Unless you know what you are doing, you can do it yourself. It is tricker on a laptop then it is on a desktop. On motherboards they have it marked by cmos reset jumper.

Clear cmos on acer aspire m5100 desktop

There are 2 ways to clear CMOS on any desktop PC.

1st There will be a set of 3 pins near the motherboatd battery with a jumper across them. Move the jumper over and wait 30 secs then move back. Remember to remove the power cable first.

If you can't find the CMOS pins and jumper then remove the power cable and also the 24 pin motherboard power connector and the motherboard battery and leave for 24 hrs.

Replace battery etc and away you go.

Why do you want to clear the CMOS?

Check your system board(motherboard) for a CMOS reset jumper. usually located near the CMOS battery. change it over to the "reset" position. wait 5 mins boot pc. if it makes it to windows. shut down move the jumper back to the original position and try to boot.

I cant find the jumper in order to reset the cmos and login to the bios configuration

Hi there.
Look on the motherboard for the battery, the jumper should be near that and with most motherboards should be marked with "CLR_CMOS" like this >>>>>

If you cannot find the jumper then chances are the board does not have one so to clear the cmos you have to take the motherboard battery out for an hour or so making sure you remove the power cord from the back of the machine.

Please post back with the results and more help if needed, good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
