Cause the Ipodis hooked on the player it uses it like an antenna..for the Fm stations and when the antenna is used with the phone it is splitting the signal ...and the same if it uses the music stored on the ipod....when u use the phone ..2 things are happening ..first ..the radio signal interfere with the amplifier ..and it will make a staccato sound ..when the actual calls are received and made...and if the player you use is from the Ipod and just amplified it's volume is going down cause of the power split in the functions ..So the sound and the interference are normal ...and will do the same with all every phone you hook ..
There is a posibility to just make the sound when you receive and make a call and after that to work normal ..and that is to use the Ipod like a storage device ..and get the song to be played in the Player not from te Ipod's player..But that sound will still be present cause the radio waves are interfering with the amplifier when a call is made or received..just the same like when you have the phone near the monitor or the speaker of a computer and both are capturing interference when this is calling ..

I have dnx7100 and I can't get my iphone 3g to work with it. Is there something I can do to make it work?

If you are trying to use the phone handsfree then you will need to get the bluetooth module. If you are trying to use your phone like an iPod then you will need to use the line-in jack and not the iPod usb kit. The unit does not support the iPhone, only the iPod. You will just have to control the music straight from your phone. I do however use the usb port as a charger for my iPhone.

Can i hook this up directly to an ipod,or do i have to use one of those radio frequency things?

From what little research I did it does not look like you can connect and Ipod without extra gear. Here is a link to some of the accessories that you can hook up to it:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113MP228/Kenwood-KDC-MP228.html?tp=5684&tab=other_items

If It was me, I would just spend the money on a stereo with a usb port. Then you can connect your Ipod directly to the cd player and operate your Ipod playlist with the cd player itself. Plug it in throw your Ipod in a cubby hole and use the cd player.

Cant connect my ex 10 to my x300 head unit

Hi Jared,

The EX-10 was never intended to be an accessory to the IDA-X300, but should work with FM modulation like any other radio, by making sure the FM frequency is set the same on both units. There are four preset channels in the EX-10 but you can change each one to any frequency.

As for the bluetooth mic connection, you must have that connected for the bluetooth to work. You are better off installing a KCE-400BTi handsfree kit to get better functionality, increased phone compatibility, increased audio quality and the ability to use all of the newer iPods (Gen 2 iTouch, Gen 4 Nano and iPhone 3G).

Hope it helps,

Marcel.

Iphone avic n4

Apple in there infinate wisdom have decided to change which pins on the ipod connector do charging for the Iphone / Itouch / newer nano's. This means that if you had "old" iphod accessories, you need to buy all new ones in order for your iphone to work. What a neat neat trick for generating revenue - huh!

Thankfully scosche has made an adaptor that just flips the pins around so all your older ipod adapters work with iphones. The part is called the Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iphone 3G. It can be found for about $20 online.
