I have the same problem with my Miele G 848 in the last month (after 5 years).

When the cycle is complete water will drain out the vent when the door is open - a half cup or so.

    Any solutions?

I have same problem exactly - 6 year old dishwasher. Hope the solution you posted works - I'm off to dismantle the door! Thanks

Ditto for all the below. We've taken to holding a cup under the fan/filter/whatever it is when we open the dishwasher door after a washing cycle has finished. Help!

I also have been having a very noisy and leaky vent. I followed the various pieces of advice and hopefully the problem will be solved.

p.s. unscrewing the door of the dishwasher was easy - putting it all back together again was a pain.

You need to remove the front of the door.there is a small pipe from the dryer fan to the top of the detergent dispenser. tis usualy gets blocked at the fan end. also the spout from the fan. this happens if you dont rinse loose food of the items you put in the dishwasher.

Great advice, one build on the G646SC Plus; the 4 screws are the lower 2 screws either, on the stainless steel inside of the door

You have the Miele problem.

This happens every year or two. Take off the outside front panel to access the hose that runs from the bottom of the fan down to the dispenser, and lets the water drain out through it to the interior. Clean out that hose as well as you can. Replace. This is a stupid problem that Miele should have a permanent fix for. Grrrr.
In fact I just did this with mine today. The hose cleans out quickly, the problem is getting the front back on. 4 hands make it easier. It slips on when you start close to vertical, then slip in in and down. For putting the screws back in, you might have to use a micro screwdriver to re-align the little clips on the door panel. (You will see what I mean when you do it!) This costs a service call ($100, give or take) to call for service. It can be done at home with no added parts. I think it applies to all Miele dishwashers, and I have now done it several times. As I said before, this is a design fault and should not be necessary!

If you have a helper to help contain the mess, you can spray water into the fan area (best is backward through the hose, but try all directions) and catch the runoff. We have done this and it catches a lot of gunk.muck and slop.

Doggone design sucks on an otherwise nice machine!!

The little vent above the words turbothermic plus is spitting out water during the cycle.

The fan assembly's drainage path is clogged. With time, food residue cloggs up the drainage path, inside the "Turbothermic" fan, and water accumulates during the drying cycle. The control panel, that houses the fan assembly, will need to be removed. Door panels will also need to come off. Unplug wires and drain hose to the fan, and loosen the round fan grill that secures the fan assembly (located inside the door). Take apart the fan assembly; unclogg drainage path and hose; and wash all parts. Re-assemble, install, and plug, the fan assembly, drain hose and door panels. Good Luck.

Intake/drain light is flashing

When this happens with my dishwasher it usually means that the drain is clogged with food/debris.  To fix 1) remove bottom dish rack from machine 2) using a small cup, scoop out as much water as possible 3) remove inlet drain cover and unsnap the plastic insert and remove 4) rinse the plastic part and reinstall 5) start machine 6) if light still flashes, repeat steps 3 4 and 5 and restart

Miele G646 dishwasher keeps trying to pump out

Had a similar problem with an 846, but with the inlet outlet lamp flashing. the bottom tray had filled with watedr froma dodgy seal. I switched off and disconnected the electricity. Removed the bottom front cover below the door (2 screws behind the pretty kickboard which also had to come off). The bottom of the machien was a big puddle. I dried this out with paper twowel, put the machine back together and it ran fine. I am going to replace the pump seals now as the machine seems otherwise OK.

Good luck with yours. rupertvdpP

Miele turbothermic G 575 SC Electronics problem?

Check the bottom tray of the unit. If water is there and the float switch is activated the drain will run and nothing else. Get rid of the water so the float switch goes off and you should be back in business. If it happens again you may have a leak somewhere and should get it looked at.
