How can I hookup lan printer to the 2wire connection?

If the 2WIRE only has one Ethernet port, you're stuck, until you purchase a router, and connect the router to the 2WIRE, and connect your computer and your printer to 2 of the 4 ports on the router.

Tip

Microsoft XBox Live and the 2Wire HomePortal

source: http://support.2wire.com (please visit!)

The Xbox Live service is compatible with all current and previously shipped versions of 2wire software. Simply connect your Xbox unit to the 2wire network and log on to the Xbox Live service.
If you are experiencing problems connecting to the XBox Live service, follow the troubleshooting procedures provided in your XBox Live documentation or XBox Live CD sleeve.
If you continue to have trouble, here are some additional troubleshooting tips:

1. Reconnect your Xbox to the 2wire Homeportal

Turn off the Xbox and unplug your 2wire HomePortal from the electrical outlet.

Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Local Ethernet port on the 2wire HomePortal.

Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox console.

Plug your 2wire back into the electrical outlet and wait for all lights to turn solid green before proceeding.

Turn on your Xbox console (without a disc in the tray).

From the Xbox Dashboard, choose Xbox Live.

In the network settings, test the connection. The connection test should pass.

2. Create custom 2wire Homeportal firewall settings

Although a custom firewall setting should not be required, manually configuring your 2wire firewall ensures that it is not preventing your connection to the Xbox Live service.

HomePortal software version 3.x

From your computer, open a browser and type: http://homeportal into the address line to access your 2wire configuration pages. Alternately, you can type: http://gateway.2wire.net

Under the list of Connected Devices you should see a device labeled "unknown device". This is the Xbox unit.
Click on "View your home network" link in the same box.
Click on "Edit firewall settings" next to the unknown device.
In the lower left-hand corner of this screen, click on "Add a new user-defined application."
Enter "Xbox Live" for the Application Name.
Select Protocol "TCP".
In the port "From:" and "To:" boxes enter 53. Do not change the other settings.
Click on Add.
Repeat these same steps for the following ports and protocols:

Port Protocol
53 UDP
88 TCP
88 UDP
3074 TCP
3074 UDP

Click on "Done" in the lower right corner.
Under "Select a Host Computer" select the "unknown device".
Under "Select the Application(s)" click on "User-defined."
Select "Xbox Live" in the box on the left and click "Add."
Click on "Done" in the lower right corner.

HomePortal software version 2.x

From your computer, open a browser and type: http://homeportal into the address line to access your 2wire configuration pages.
Click on the "HomePortal Upgrades" button and if you have an upgrade available, download the upgrade. If you do not have an upgrade available, continue to next step
Under the list of Connected Devices you should see a device labeled "unknown device". This is the Xbox unit.
Click on "Advanced" link in the same box.
In the lower, left-hand corner of this screen click on "Add an application" link. Enter "Xbox 1" for the application Name.
Select Protocol "TCP"
Leave the Protocol setting as "Other".
In the port "From:" and "To:" boxes enter 53. Do not change the other settings.
Click on DONE on the "Add Application" page.
Repeat the same steps for the following ports and protocols. You will need to create a new name for each entry:

Xbox 1 53 UDP
Xbox 2 88 TCP
Xbox 3 88 UDP
Xbox 4 3704 TCP
Xbox 5 3704 UDP

Click on DONE on the "Hosted Application" page when you are finished creating the list above.

Can you run a seperate router for your dvr and another one for computer wired connection

It's hard to tell exactly what you have but it sounds like you have DSL on the 2wire. If everything is hard wired you can use the LAN Ethernet ports on the Belkin as a switch. You should to assign a static IP on the Belkin for management purposes and shut off its DHCP server. The static IP should be something in the range assigned by the 2wire but out of its DHCP range. Like 192.168.0.5 You will not need the WAN port on the Belkin. After you reconfigure the Belkin connect the Ethernet port on the 2wire to it. Along with your PC and DVR. I think it has 4 LAN ports so that will leave one open. It would probably be easier to buy a switch at the store.

Cannot connect to web.

Follow this steps
1. Connect the provided power adapter from the gateway's POWER port to an electrical outlet. The POWER light on the front of the gateway should be green. 2. Connect the provided gray phone cable from the gateway's PHONE LINE port to the DSL filter jack labeled DSL/HPNA. 3. Connect the yellow Ethernet cable provided with the gateway from the LOCAL ETHERNET port on the gateway to your computer's Ethernet port
With your computer completely started, verify the POWER and ETHERNET indicator lights on the front of the 2Wire gateway are green. If they are not, see "Understanding the Indicator Lights" on page 15. The INTERNET indicator light will not turn green until the gateway software has been installed and an Internet connection has been established.
