My batteries were dead so I changed them for new ones. The camera is still dead. I got a quick flash of the red light then it died. The batteries have been tested and they are fine. Can someone please help. My warrenty has just expired.

Same here. Out of the blue, it just went dead and cannot get any power, no matter how many batteries I have tried. Just died for no reason. I treat my camera very well. Can't explain.

I have the same problem- used the e500 just last weekend and was fine, now all of a sudden, when I turn it on, the lcd monitor comes on for a second, then goes blank. Tried pressing the info button as it says in the manual, but that didn't do anything. Shutter seems to work, but don't know if it will take any pictures, since I can't get the menu anyway. Don't know why this happened, as I take very good care of the camera.

I am having a similar problem. The camera will take photos, but randomly it powers off! If it shuts down mid-shot, the image isn't recorded. If it shuts down while writing to CF, the resulting RAW image (I'm doing RAW & SHQ) is heavy green. A freshly charged battery helps for a while, but not for long. Seems so random!

Also, I just downloaded 1200+ photos off my 16GB card and it stayed on without problems for hours... Not sure. Hubby dropped the battery charger with battery in it right before this started happening... Going to buy new battery today.

Not sure if this will help, but it seemed to fix my issue......I used a freshly charged battery. Removed both xD and Compact Flash memory from the camera. Powered on. You will see the menu flash and read that there is no card inserted. Power down. Place memory back in the camera. I can't explain my issue. The camera may have gone into a stand-by mode until the battery died and it just needed a reset? Anyway, hope this can be of use to someone. =0)

Sounds like it went to sleep due to low battery power. May be time for a new battery if it isn't holding charge well.

Plug it into the wall and push the power button once. It may come back on. If not...

Hold the power button down until the machine shuts off completely. If that doesn't work, remove the battery.

Evertek e500 not chargijng

Does the laptop work with just the power cord plugged in? If so, that means your power cord is ok and if your battery is not taking a charge then the battery is dead. Batteries only have a useful life, then they have to be replaced.

If you laptop is having issues staying on or booting up with the power cord then either your power cord is bad or the DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the laptop is bad. Either one will cause the battery not to charge.

Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs into the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

My olympus stylus710 digital camera is currently not working. when we turn the camera on the lens opens and extends, quickly retracting. this happens several times before the unfocused screen turns blue...

That looks like a software error. Check that the battery is fully charged and read the manual at troubleshooting section. if you don't have one, seach on web and you`ll find it.

Armada E500 notebook Power button not responding.

Unless you took the batteries to a service center, I am dubious about your ability to confirm the main battery is holding a charge. The average lifespan of these kinds of batteries range between 3-5 years and is likely at the end of its lifespan. This would explain the diminishing performance over the last year if there were significant power or power circuit issues, they would likely be observed on AC power as well. This model of laptop requires the battery calibration utility be run in order for the laptop use the battery. In fact, the battery can show a full charge and still not function if the utility and battery have not been properly configured.. . . instructions on HOW TO do this below. If this doesn't FixYa then the battery will need to be replaced (links to replacement sources) www.BatteriesOvernight.com/HP-Batteries,----- OR --- www.new-laptop-battery.com/Compaq/?Compaq-Armada-E500-battery.htm. You will still have to run the configuration utility when you receive your new battery.
Link to Armada e500 manuals:http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01124216/c01124216.pdf
How to run config utility: Standby and hibernation must be disabled for the battery to discharge completely and shut off. To use the Battery Calibration utility, first identify whether the battery requires calibration by launching the Power Management applet as described above. On the Battery Calibration tab, all installed batteries will be displayed in the primary list box. Next to each battery name will be an indication of whether calibration is required for that battery. If calibration is necessary, the phrase “Needs Calibration” will be displayed. Select the battery to be calibrated, and click the Start Calibration button. During calibration, the utility will display an icon on the Windows System Tray to indicate that calibration is in progress. Each phase of calibration (charging or discharging) will also be displayed. Calibration is complete when the icon is no longer displayed in the System Tray. Battery calibration requires several hours for completion. If you choose to continue using the computer during the calibration process, it must be connected to AC power. The calibration process must be allowed to finish without interruption. Performing any of the following actions will prematurely terminate calibration: Clicking the Stop Calibrating button in the Compaq Power tab. Unplugging AC power from the computer. Unplugging the calibrating battery. (This action may result in data loss if a second battery is not installed.) Undocking the computer. Pressing the power or standby button. Powering down or suspending the machine by using the Windows menu. IMPORTANT: If the calibration process is interrupted, it cannot be resumed. You must restart the computer and start the process again.
CALIBRATING WITHOUT THE UTILITY To calibrate a battery on computers without the battery calibration utility, complete the following steps: 1. Remove the second battery, if present, so that only the battery needing calibration remains in the computer. 2. Dock the computer or connect the computer to AC power. 3. Turn on the computer. 4. Check the current battery capacity level by positioning the cursor over the battery icon in the system tray. 5. Allow the battery to charge to 100%. You may use the computer, but the recharging process will require more time. 6. Set the system to “drain” mode on the battery conservation settings by pressing Fn+F7, or select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Power (or Compaq Power in Windows NT). 7. Undock the computer or disconnect the computer from AC power. 8. Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode by clicking Start > Shut Down > Restart the Computer in MS-DOS Mode > OK. 9. Allow the computer to discharge until it shuts off. 10. Dock the computer or reconnect AC power. 11. Allow the computer to charge again to 100% as in Step 5.
