Question about Insignia IS-LCDTV32 32 in. Television

1 Answer

Easy Question It has been explained to me how to change out the cap or power supply for me set, however, for the life of me I cannot figure out how to remove the back panel. I have been told that I do not have to remove the entire back. Am I missing something?

It sounds like the standby 5vdc is working but the main board is not sending the PS_ON signal to turn on the 12vdc/24vdc power supply section and the BL_ON for the inverter board. I would look at the sch. to see if you have the PS_ON (3.3~5VDC) to turn on the power supply section first. I have a feeling you are having the main board problem.

All the LCD TV's operate just about the same as explain in my guide.

Power supply in my Sharp LC-37D43U quit in 1st qtr '09 and was replaced at a repair shop. Recently the TV won't turn on and there are no standby lights. I'm assuming the power supply is out...

The common failure in the power supply is due to cheap low quality capacitors, the replacement that was install probably has the same quality cap. I only use good cap from PANASONIC for my repair works.
The moudle is easy to replace, just remove the TV stand, all the back screws, and may be 4~6 screws for the power supply, it uses connectors so yoiu can easily remove them, just take good pictures before working on it so you will know how it goes back together.
You can try getting the module from www.shopjimmy.com, he is my main supplier for boards.
Just make sure to get the number as printed on the sticker of the power supply to get exact match, you can also contact him if you are not sure.

The 5vdc standby power supply is working but the rest of the power supply may not be working, you need to openit up and inspect the capacitors int he power supply first.

No sound and no picture.Power comes on with red light changes to green. Replace caps (15) on power supply.

You need to check and see if all the control voltages (Power supply on) and DC output voltages are present. PS pin out: http://www.fspgroupusa.com/download/specs/FSP271-5F01_DIA.pdf

Q: Red standby light was flashing red for a few days. Now we can't get any power at all. lg model 32lc2du-u3 A: Power supply problem.... I can explain to you how to fix via email with detailed...

First: service manuals http://elektrotanya.com/?q=showresult&megnev=lg&megnev2=32lc2du-u3%20&kategoria=tv&kat2=all
Second: most failure in power supply module is due to bad caps with domed top, you should inspect for that first, main AC fuse for main power.
Did you take out or look at the power supply yet?

I have a samsung ln40a550 LCD and had a problem with it , the TV wouldn't turn on. So i did some research and found out that samsung had some crappy capacitors, so i called them and they came and replaced...

I would think if SAMSUNG came out to replace the bad caps and the TV is still not working right, I would think they should fix it correctly, may be the person did not do the good quality jobs and left. What does SAMSUNG say about this? The bad power supply could have unstable DC and could have damaged the other boards inside the set. You will need to inspect the power supply yourself, look to see the soldering works are good and everythings are put back together correctly with correct polarity.
Then you need to verify all the DC output voltages before going any further, it will not be an easy job.

TV will not turn on.It is plugged in .Is there an internal fuse . I had a power outage while the Tv was on.The power button directly on the TV will not work either.

Check the power source?Yes,near the edges the power supply board there is a fuse. That the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.But new modern digital devices, never blown fuse as easy as analog devices though.Power supply board, have shorted parts in it some where and now the board is dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Insignia NS-27lcd tv won't turn on

Well, take the plug that goes to the inverter board out which has the 12v on it. Check the 12v again at the power supply. If 12v is low you can possibly have 2 caps bad, the values should be about 1000uf/35v or there abouts. They set close to the plug. If that doesn't work then replace the Power Supply because there are no service manuals for lcd p/s. plus nearly impossible to locate individual ic's. Try Shop Jimmy.com for the P/S.

Had the same issue, I replaced two 1200uf caps on the power supply board and now it works fine again. Remember to replace the caps with caps rated for at least 35wvdc.
