SOURCE: kenmore gas dryer not heating

GAS DRYER, NO HEAT. CHECK THE HEAT SETTING FIRST.
IS IT ON AIR FLUFF? I'M NOT BEING SMART, BUT YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED HOW MANY CALLS I TAKE THAT ARE ON AIR FLUFF. SECOND, LISTEN FOR A DISTINCT CLICK WHEN YOU TURN ON THE DRYER. IF YOU HEAR IT, LOOK IN THE INSPECTION HOLE ON THE FRONT OF THE DRYER, OR REMOVE THE TOE PLATE TO VIEW THE IGNITOR. IF THE IGNITOR GLOWS AND THEN CLICKS OFF BUT NO FLAME, YOU HAVE A BAD SOLENOID ON THE GAS VALVE. IF THE IGNITOR GLOWS, BUT NEVER CLICKS OFF, THE RADIANT SENSOR ATTACHED TO THE SIDE OF THE BURNER ASSEMBLY IS BAD.

IF YOU DON'T HEAR A DISTINCT CLICK WHEN YOU TURN ON THE DRYER, THE MOST LIKELY CAUSE IS THE THERMAL FUSE LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE DRYER DOWN NEAR THE EXHAUST DUCT. IT IS A SMALL WHITE ITEM ATTACHED TO THE EXHAUST DUCT WITH TWO WIRES ATTACHED.

SOURCE: dryer does not get hot

Most likely your heating element has gone bad. This will happen from a number of different things ranging from just plain age to clogged vents causing it to overheat and go out. Also with a gas dryer your thermostat may be bad. The thermostat tells the dryer when to release the gas and ignite the flame to heat the drum. This would be my first suggestion on what the problem is. There is also a thermal fuse on your dryer that may be the problem but I really think it's the thermostat. It's hard to say without hooking a volt meter to it to find where the current is stopping but these would be the most common causes. It's always a good idea to have your vents cleaned out at least once a year and if you have a long distance between the dryer and the vent outside get the entire hose cleared out yearly. This will save you money in the long run on parts and save you from any fires. With gas dryers, I have seen it a few times in homes, the lint catches fire due to the open flame and does a lot of damage.

Do try out the thermostat first, it shouldn't cost you but around 20 dollars for it. If you open up the back panel of the control panel you will find the wire diagram and it will show you where the thermostat is located. Do make sure to unplug the dryer first though. Trust me, 110 volts of electricity is not a fun feeling for anyone, I know from experience. If you have any other questions let me know. I hope this helps you out enough to get this fixed, I know what a pain it is to have your dryer out. Good luck.

SOURCE: Whirlpool model number LGV7646ANO gas dyer will not heat up

Can you hear a click like always? If not then it has to be either the fuse, ignitor,or sensor. If you hear it clicking then the operator coils are dead. HERE is a link that shows pictures of these parts and locations.

Whirlpool Gas Dryer, LGR5636EQ2, timer not moving on Auto (DryMis

If that is a 3 wire gas assembly then the timer is screwed. The orange wire when removed from the mix will make the thing advance. The trouble is in the timer. If that is a 2 wire gas operator you need to change the high limit and open up the outside vent. My opinion.

Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II: No heat

didc, on a gas dryer, if the thermal fuse blows it will still rotate, but will not heat. Since this is a gas dryer, see if the ignitor is glowing. If it is, then you know the thermal fuse is good. If not, the thermal fuse may be blown or the ignitor itself and thus the reason for no heat. Catriver.7152136.jpg
