The error that you are getting indicates that the system is not able to detect the Hard Drive. We would need to confirm if the Hard Drive is detected in the system BIOS or not. For that we would need to turn off the computer. Turn on the computer and start hitting F2 key to reach BIOS. On the First page of BIOS it should show you the Hard Disk Drive with name and Number. If it shows all drives and none or not detected then it means the hard drive is not getting detected by the system. If you can open the Laptop and reach the Hard Disk Drive you can try to re-seat it to see if it gets detected. If it still remains undetected, Its time to replace the Hard Disk Drive.
Please try the above steps and get back for any further assistance or clarification
There might be a problem with the hard disk. You should hook the drive up to another computer and run a hard disk diagnostic test on the drive, such as Data Lifeguard Diagnostics by Western Digital to make sure that the drive is okay, even if it is brand new.

Bad sectors are starting to show up on the hard drive. Thats what the smartdrive program is for, its checks the hard drive to see if there are any bad spots or potential bad spots on the platter inside of the hard drive.
It will definitely have to be replaced. Replace it with a new one and if you can't then at least replace it with a known good used one.
This could be a sign of the hard drive having a problem. I would recommend that you do a scan of the hard drive to check for errors. You didn't mention which operating system you have, but you need to click on My Computer and then right-click on your hard drive. Go to Properties and then Tools. Once there, select the option that tells you to check the disk for errors. Check the entire drive. Note that this will not run right away. You must restart your computer, as the utility needs exclusive access to the hard drive. If this type of error reoccurs, it's time to back up your data, 'cause you probably have a hard drive that is dying.
Your laptop hard drive is probably damaged from the fall. The reason why diagnostic test after memory fails is that it’s trying to load from the “Diagnostic Partition” which is located on your hard disk drive. You could try to remove and reseat the hard disk drive and see if that works, otherwise you’ll have to take the drive to a local computer repair shop to see if they can retrieve any data.
