Question about HP Pavilion a1540n PC Desktop
I have an HP Pavilion a1540n computer. Recently the disk had to be replaced. I took it to Fry's and they did the work and showed the computer booted up by hooking it to a monitor in their shop.
When I got it home and hooked it up, my monitor displayed vertical lines and a scratchy image -- it was impossible to even read it, although it appeared the computer is booting.
I think the video hardware is on the motherboard. Can I install a video card? and if so, how do I do that since I cannot see the screen (we already tried hooking up another monitor at home, no luck that is why I think the video hardware is at fault)
Yes you put in the video card and the default is lowest resolution and is usable without a driver, install driver then reboot and you have your new video card to set up the way you want.
