Are you using the integrated AOL application? Are you accessing AOL through their website using a browser? Do you want to make all type permanently bigger, or just AOL?

On Aol, I wish to change the font from 12 to 14 permanently not just for one "reply", ie, I want the default to be 14, not 12, is there a way to do this ??

TO CHANGE THE DEFAULT FONT SIZE FOR E-MAIL IN AOL 9.0/9.1
1) Click on the Settings button at the top of the AOL window.
2) Click on Font and Text.
3) Click on Font.
4) Click on the Down Arrow next to: Arial, then click on Times New Roman or whatever font you want.
5) Click on the Down Arrow next to 10 or whatever the font size is, and then click on the 12 or 14 or whatever font size you want. (The larger the number, the larger the font size.)
6) Under Text Settings, click on ₪ Small, ₪ Medium or ₪ Large [click on only one of these] for "Where possible, display the following size of text on AOL."
Note: This will change the font size for everything other than e-mail, chat messages and instant messages. (In other words, for web pages or for the general AOL pages.) 7) Click on Save.
8) Close the Font & Text window by clicking on the X button in the upper right-hand corner of the window.

How to change font size

A recent comment about small fonts in AOL Desktop prompted me to explain how to increase the size of your fonts in your Windows Operating System. AOL Desktop will recognize your preferred OS font size so that text throughout the program will be larger. (To increase your browser font size, which is handled separately, go to the Tools menu in the AOL Desktop browser, choose "Power Browsing" and go to "Page Display".) To set the font size in your Operating System (warning: this will apply to all your other applications, not just AOL), go to your Display Properties in Windows XP / Personalization Settings in Windows Vista. On XP, you can right-click on your PC desktop background and choose "Properties", then select the "Appearance" tab". Look for the "Font Size" menu at the bottom, and choose the dropdown for your preferred font size (e.g. normal, large, and extra large). In the screenshot below, you'll see the steps I just described below. I'm running "Large Fonts" so you can see how it impacts my window chrome...

Change to larger font on aol e-mail

AOL Mail is an email service provided to the customers of American Online as well as Web users.

When you print an email using AOL Mail software, you may notice that the font size either appears too small or too large.

AOL Mail gives you the flexibility to adjust the font size and thus, the size of the print.

Note that these instructions apply to AOL 9.0 or higher.

If you have an old edition, follow instructions from the link specified under Resources.

Launch your AOL Mail software from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.

Log in using your AOL screen name and password.

Click "Settings" on the top bar.

Click "Font and Text."

Click the font type drop-down menu to choose either a larger or smaller font type than the current one.

Click the font size drop-down menu to choose either a larger or smaller font size based on your preference.

Click "Save."

Hope this helps

I use AOL on my Mac. Can not change the font size on outgoing mail. How do I fix this?

LOL, no wonder. Are they still around? They've been bought and sold so much that I thought they were completely stripped.

Get into your AOL email and look for a help option somewhere while in the email client.

How to increase font size on my macbook permanently.

When you are on the finder Click View, scroll down to 'show view options' and from there you can change the font size looks on the desktop. You can even make the folders bigger.

To make the font bigger for folders open the desired folder you want and go to the view menu and like above goto the "show view options' option and when the window pops up you can adjust the font size.
I also suggest dropping your screen resolution to a lower number. That can be found by clicking the apple, going to system preferences and click displays under the hardware header. From there move the resolution down to 1280 x 800 or 1024 x 768. But for screen legibility and such I would not drop the resolution any farther than 1024 x 768.

Hope that helps!
