Question about Fisher and Paykel DEGX1 Electric Dryer
When the drum stops and reverses, there is a buzz, a bit like a playing card in a bicycle spoke.
I removed the lower plate to inspect the squirrel cage and there is no obstruction, and there is plenty of clearance.
I also sprayed a bit of teflon lube at the shaft from the motor that spins the cage with no effect.
The noise is non-specific and so far, tough to put my finger on.
Thanks for any pointers.
It fixed itself; when I bought the unit (used) the rear lower panel was missing due to ham-handed movers. This part has the exhaust port. While inspecting the unit, I tipped it fowrard and backwards; the buzzing stopped when tipped fwd.
Once I installed the new part, whatever was causing the interference or harmonically upset.. all is good.
I DID receive the parts manual from a friendly parts department; I'll try to post that here somewhere.
