One common failure is the water flow valve that is part of and behind the hose connections. These will buzz and not allow water to flow or will allow only one or the other water line to supply water. Most machines refuse to do anything until enough water is present.

Kenmore 80 didn't drain during the spin cycle and leak underneath machine. Makes buzzing noise in the wash cycles.

The pump is likely damaged if it was leaking. Look for a ring of melted plastic on the face side of the pump. Check to make sure the hole is not rounded where the motor shaft enters the pump.
I'd replace the pump just to make sure the washer doesn't flood some time in the future even if the pump turn out to be ok now.

Machine filled with water then just began beeping. Never started to wash the clothes. When turned off and then on again, it makes a buzzing noise and nothing happens.

If your buzzing noise stops after a few seconds, it could be the motor failing to start. If it sounds like a signal buzzer, it could be indicating the lid open, or a failed lid switch.

My washing machine (Whirlpool) stopped working. As it was working, it was making a noise that I can't really describe. Later on it stopped working altogether, now it only makes a buzzing noise. What is...

Normally it is the gearbox that making that noise, try turning the drum by hand for the full 360 degrees. if it wont turn then the gearbox is out of order and needs to be replaced

Machine is not washing, spinning or draining

has someone interfered with the inlet tap. The buzzing is normally a sign that the appliance is trying to take water but tap is off.

Machine makes a buzzing noise and does not start when turned on

The buzzing noise could be the water inlet valve which is quite normal. Make sure the water is turned on, If it is, Turn off the water at the tap and remove the water inlet pipe from the back of the washing machine and check that the filter inside is not blocked. Other than that, it could be the vavle itself that`s not opening to let the water into the soap dispenser. Ian

Me Estate washing machine, when started fills to specified water level then, it makes a buzzing noise then the buzz quits and nothing happens. Machine won't agitate or drain, just buzz then buzz quits.

sounds like you have a problem with your water supply to washer. the buzzing noise sounds like it's the valve opening to receive water but nothing going in. check supply hoses and water taps
