If you need to reformat the system, you can usually access Acer's built-in eRecovery by pressing Alt-F10 at the splash screen. Just bear in mind that restoring the system to factory specifications will erase the contents of your hard drive, so please ensure that your important data is backed up before doing so.
The "Vista Boot Loop" is a known issue though, but does have a solution,
see hereIf you are unable to use the repair portion of those steps, there is another workaround, but requires the use of other bootable media, such as Ubuntu (which you can download for free
here). From there, try following
these steps to get the pending.xml file renamed (see Comment #12 specifically, when using Ubuntu)
If you can solve it using the latter method, then you can get back into the system without having to reformat the entire hard drive and starting over.
