The indicated symptom signifies a faulty door lock and switch assembly. It is a safety feature of the washer not to advance to the spin cycle should the door lock is not activated to prevent injury due to accidental opening the washer door during a high speed spin. Check the wiring connections of the door lock and switch assembly to the main control board and the door lock and switch assembly itself. Make sure the connections are good and snug fit. Disconnect power to the machine prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Access to the main control board requires the removal of the top and the console. Remove the top panel by removing the screws attaching it to the rear of the washer then slide it rearward and off.

Pull the dispenser drawer out then push the locking tab to release it an pull the drawer completely out. Once the drawer is out, remove the 3 screws from the opening left by the drawer including the screws attaching the top of the console to the washer cabinet.

Disconnect the console wiring harness connection then lift the console and flip it forward to detach it from the cabinet. Disconnect wiring harness connections from the console then clean the connectors and terminals to ensure a good and snug fit connection. This will eliminate the possibility of loose wiring harness connection that may cause the malfunctioning of the door lock.

The door lock and switch assembly (part number 131763202) can be accessed for inspection or replacement through the door opening by removing part of the door gasket near the assembly. Open the washer door then locate the wire hoop and spring assembly securing the door gasket to the outer lip of the door opening. Using a needle-nose pliers, stretch the spring to clear the wire hoop from the gasket and remove it.

Peel off the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly to gain access and remove the assembly. Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel then lift and pull it out of the washer. Connect the wires to the new assembly and secure it in place into the front panel.

Put the door gasket back into the outer lip of the door opening and secure it in place with the wire hoop and spring assembly.

Wont spin

you have to check all the harness connections on this machine and when you realize that this is going to happen often you may want to consider tossing this in a dumpster.

Spin Cycle doesn't work on our GE Energy Star frontloader, please help

You may have to remove the lower panel and clean the drain pump filter. Easy job, once the panel is removed the filter will be right in front. Get a bucket and unscrew the filter cover (3 very small screws at the bottom of the front panel) and you should find a ton of lint and stuff in there. This model has a pressure switch that detects if there is water in the tub. If so it will do this pause and slow spin. Once the pump filter is clean you should be good again. It worked for me.

Wont spin or drain

The drain pump is jammed or clogged up. Remove the filter cover and check for bobby pins, coins or bra wires. If clean, remove drum to pump hose from the pump and check for any foreign matter. Try to turn the pump impeller by hand. It should turn freely. If pump is not free, replace it.

Final agitation and spin do not happen, timer does not stop

check your knob and sleve on the timer to see if they are the right ones or if they line up. if they doit might be the pin in side the timer.or it might be faulty. another suggestiion is check everything out twice. good luck
