I need to see the securest possible places to attach the given hardware so it doesn't fall out of the window and keeps insects and the hot air out of the room. Helpful to see the pictorial directions online.

I live in southeast Iowa where would the cold air returns be placed in new construction for a gas forced air system.

as cold air falls to the lowest point. placing them high would allow the cold air to flow down over the occupants
as hot air rises placing them low would allow the hot air to rise past the occupants
consult with an architect as to the best positions to place air vents.
talk with the manufacturers of the gas forced system as they will suggest the best place for their units

Ac drip line

At the point of drip there should be a small tube . not very long and about 1/2 inch in dia. attach a garden hose to it and lay the hose out keeping a downward slope all the way to where you want it to run. Failing that use electrical conduit (plastic) and various bends to get the water to where you want it to go

_don@hotmail.comthe heat control function doesn't seem to be working, the clothes get very hot regardless of setting. which device controls the temperature? Thanks for your help. Don

Hi ngentry don...
Your overheating problem is not caused by the thermostats...
Do the following:

Check and clean if necessary your vent hose.
If you vent hose "seems" to be clean then, try running the dryer with the vent hose off and see if the dryer is not running hot anymore.
Make sure your lint screen is in place and has no tears or holes in it and is still firmly attached to the frame.
If you are running too hot you are not moving enough air thru the system.
It could be that the fan blade is plugged up.
The problem could be a large lint ball build up in the center of the fan or a sock, thin pants,a pen, etc. that has gotten into the fan by falling down the hole where the lint screen is normally inserted.
You have to find the air restriction to solve the problem.
It also can be a loose or worn out blower wheel/fan.
Please take time to rate me.

I moved into a place that has a MasterCool Evaporative Cooler on the roof. The ownstairs is quite comfortable so I really only need to cool the 2nd story.... it seems as if all the cold air settles...

jbrown - Hot air rises, Cold air falls. If you have ceiling fans upstairs, turn them on to run counterclockwise at highest speed you can stand. Make sure all the windows are closed upstairs. The ceiling fans will help to keep the cool air upstairs and pull some from downstairs.

If you don't have ceiling fans, invest in a box type fan that you can place at the head of the stairs (that's the top of the stairs) run it on HIGH and it will act like an exhaust fan, by pulling cool air upstairs. It may take a while, but it will help cool the upstairs to some degree.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Schwinn Sidwinder gears need adjusting. The one with 3 gears doesn't stay where I try to set it.

Keeping a derailleur in a given gear is the shifter's job. If the shift lever/mechanism doesn't click and stay where you place it, something is wrong internally. It will need to be replaced if, for example, a SRAM MRX grip slid away and let the guts fall out.

Whatever your particular dilemma, look for a friendly local bicycle shop to see what they can do for you. I replaced the entire MRX shifter set for a friend using an upgraded and better designed Shimano setup for under $25 and my own labor. But then, I'm an old hand at working on bikes.

A green insect attached itself to my dog's head above the right eye. It looked like a lump and had a soft shell. I think it was a beetle but am concerned about the possible effects of this event. Is this...

I don't know what your dog got into, but check out Squirrel lumps, and see if that is what it is. I don't know of any insect that will burrow into a live animal, besides a tick, and that is not an insect. hope this helps.

Touchpad is not working

Hello :

If touch pad has gotten wet, then allow to dry for several days. Avoid spraying cleaning liquid near touch pad.
Check for insect infestation. Insects (cockroaches most frequently) will appear under clear surface of touch pad or under readout window; they like the warmth of the circuit boards.
Place window mesh over vent to keep insects out.

good luck .

How to replace the window power motor?i removed all the covering of the door. I see the window motor but have no idea how to take it out.

It's possible you need a regulator along with the motor; if you hear a "crunchy" sound and the window moves up and down when you push the switch the regulator has failed. To remove the motor, you'll need to remove the regulator assembly, which the motor is attached to. There should be several 10mm head bolts which hold the regulator in place along the 4 corners of the inner door. Also, there are 3 bolts that attach to motor to the inner door sheet metal. You need to remove the 2 bolts that attach to the bottom of the window as well, while keeping the window secured to avoid it falling. Push it all the way up and use several strips of masking tape starting from the outside to the inside over the door frame to keep it in place.

Two handle Moen kitchen faucet. Hot side handle

loctite is an excellent product, but you have to have a couple of threads for it to 'lock'! be sure handle is seated[pushed all the way on] or shop a hardware or home improvement store for a replacement screw or a 'self tapping'' screw of the proper size.
