Question about Microsoft Wireless Mobile Memory Mouse 8000

1 Answer

MY Microsoft memory mouse 8000 w/rechargable battery with usb cord, is not charging even the light does not come on. I have tried changing USB ports...nothing. I do not see what re-installing it would do, but I am going to try that nest. Nothing has been chaged to my system or the mouse. I do even think I have updated the driver. Would that help? Its charged Via the USB port with a cord that has magnet connectors to charge. I have tried, taking the batt. out and waiting, turning it off and waiting...but nothing I do seems to fix it...HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not the battery because the Battery Status LED Indicator glows red when the battery is running low. The green light indicates that it is charging.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

And, remember; always include the type of Operating System and the type of computer you own, when you submit your questions. It simply makes for much faster solutions.

Have a wonderful week.

SOURCE: Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse Not Connecting

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it to Reset/Connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly.
If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

SOURCE: Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse Not Connecting

After reading on Microsoft about replacing the batteries, down loading drivers and "press the button on the receiver and the connect button the receiver" - I got frustrated and almost gave it flight. Then my wife stepped in and realized that there was a green reset button on the USB connector as well. (who knew?) SO.... you press the green light (which is a button) and release it.... should blink. Then go to THE MOUSE portion and press the connect button for 5 seconds or so.... and wala...... One mouse that plays again! This ones gonna cost me! :) I hope this one works for ya!

Hello, have you tried changing the batteries in your mouse? They are probably dead or dying and that is why it is not working. Also, try restarting the computer. If you cannot even use a regular wired usb mouse, there may be something going on. Try changing the batteries, restarting the computer, and using a regular usb and a regular PS/2 mouse.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Alkaline batteries are not rechargeable...in fact, it would be dangerous to try to charge them. You can purchase rechargeable NiMH AA batteries that come with their own charger. This will save you a lot of money in the future.

My Microsoft mouse keeps disconnecting, and it wont work. Iv tried everything to get it to work again, any ideas?

Try turning off your computer then remove the stick from the USB port that supports the wireless mouse (disconnect the mouse from the computer). Change the batteries in the mouse.
Reconnect the mouse to the computer and press the tiny button on bottom of the mouse to calibrate the connection (it usually says "connection" or "reset" near the button) and hold it in for about ten seconds or so.

Then turn the computer back on and see if this solves your problem.

If your mouse continues to disconnect, the range from the stick plugged into the computer to the area where you use the mouse may be too far - or there is other audio equipment or microwave ovens in the area that are interfering with your connection. Try moving the computer tower, changing usb ports to connect the mouse to or remove any unnecessary electrical equipment on or near your desk area.

If all of the above does not solve your problem, return your mouse to the store of purchase or exchange it for another. It may be defective.

Replace the rechargeable batteries. Even rechargeable batteries only can be recharged so many times and then they will not hold a good charge.

Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 not responding!

Hi,

Try to check whether the switch in the battery compartment is switch to 2.4 or Bluetooth? If it is switch to Bluetooth try to switch to 2.4 and remember to switch on the power of the mouse.

Hopes this works for you.
