Timex 1440 sports WR50M

The buttons on my watch don't seem to correspond to any instructions which I can find. I have a Mode, Start/Stop, Adjust and Indiglow buttons. All I want to do is set the right time. Should it be this hard?

Solution # 1 is by far the best solution. I was able to set my 1440!!!! Thank you "Guest". THANK YOU!!!! IT WORKED when all other directions failed.

  • njwitch Jun 12, 2008

The picture in the direction are for the w-212 and definitely don't match the 1440. I can't figure out which button is which except obviously for the light on the lower left side. Does it have a choice of 12 or 24 hour ability?

Solution #2 by Guest, posted on May 13, 2008 solved my problem. OUTSTANDING solution #2!

1. Hold in the MODE button until the alarm time appears.

2. VERY IMPORTANT - release and TAP the MODE button AGAIN, and the time should appear with the seconds flashing.

3. Use StART/Stop to choose among seconds, hours, and minutes, and

4. Use ADJUST to increase the selected number

5. Press MODE to put the thing back in regular operational mode.

After several attempts with other directions over the last four months, these 5 steps WORKED.

You may also want to try holding the LAP/RST button until you see the digital read-out say "SET". From there, you can use the mode button to alternate through different settings and you use the ST./STOP button to change the settings. From my experience different products have different ways to be set and Timex does a poor job of making that known, if none of these solutions work for you, you might also try different things, just takes some playing and a little bit of time.

I have just bought mine. Maybe this will help. Keep pressing the Indiglo button for about 3 seconds, then you will see the numbers blinking. Set the numbers using the Start/Stop button, go to the next set of number by using the Split/Reset button. And after you're happy with the setting, click the Indiglo button again, and you're done.

Okay. I was looking for a solution to this problem as well. My 1440 Sports is a few years old now, and, of course, I don't have the manual. Anyway, here's what to do: Hold in the Mode button until the alarm time appears. Tap the Mode button again, and the time should appear with the seconds flashing. Use St/Stop to choose among seconds, hours, and minutes, and use Lap/Reset to increase the selected number. Use Mode to put the thing back in regular operational mode.

Good luck.

I have the same problem. My buttons are Mode, Start/Stop, Set and Indiglow. The pictures on the directions that came with the watch have the buttons in different positions. In addition my buttons don't do what the direction buttons say they will do. No button combination I've found will change the time. HELP - otherwise I'm returning it to the store.

How do i set the time for my adidas ADP6002?

The watch looks and feel great; the band doesn't hurt my wrist like other watches. The instruction book, however, was awful. It was a bunch of instructions for other watches, not the ADP6002. It took a few minutes of playing around for me to figure out how to set the watch. Here's how to do it: 1) Make sure there is a little "t1" above the second hand. If there is a "t2" instead, hold the Start/Stop button for 3 seconds. (This is the part that was messing me up) 2) Hold the Set/Light button for a few seconds. The watch should say LIGHT and "OFF" or "ON" should be flashing. 3) Press the Mode button until the hour hand starts flashing. You can adjust it up and down by the Start/Stop and Lap/Reset buttons. 4) Press Mode to adjust the minute, second, and other settings. 5) Press Set/Light button when you are finished.

The Water Star came with no instructions. How do we set the time?

Look at the face of the watch. It should read in very small print which button operates the mode button. Pressing it should change or flash the time, while it flashes, press the button that corresponds with the Start/Stop button to change the hour, press the button marking reset should go to the minutes and so on, when finished press the mode button again.

How to set watch

I just set the time on mine with these instructions 1) With the watch in the regular time display mode (doesn't matter if 12 hour or military time), depress and hold the lower left hand button (mode button). After a few seconds the watch appears to shift to alarm mode and it is blinking. This puts you into the mode for adjusting the alarm.

2) If you want to adjust time, date, etc rather than alarm time, after you have done step one, simply press that same lower left button again, and then it will put you into the time mode, but this time the time mode is blinking and you can adjust the various components (seconds, minutes, hours) then you can use the upper right hand button to navigate thru seconds, minutes and hours. Then you can change the time with the lower right hand button you can only change the time forward. I hope this helps !!!
