How do I replace the clutch

Depends on the make and model. Remove the clutch cover and possibly the clutch drum, if it has an inboard clutch. To remove the clutch it a 'clockwise' thread to take them off. Often they will have an arrow showing you the direction to turn them to take them off. You will also need to 'block' the piston too. I prefer to use a piece of pull chord with a series of overhand knots along it, feed it into the spark plug hole, hand turn the clutch clockwise until the piston rises and hits the chord so it cant rise no more. Be careful when you feed it in that its not going into the exhaust port as the piston will shear the chord and leave you with a piece in the exhaust. But its certainly safer than potentially breaking a plastic piston stop off in the cylinder.

Hi key son...

Make sure you are getting spark at the spark plug, to do this:
Remove your spark plug and check to be sure you are getting a bright blue spark at the spark plug.
You do this by grounding the plug on the head of the engine and pulling the crank rope...watching the plug for spark.
If you are getting a nice blue spark then skip A below and go to B.
A...If you do not get a nice blue spark then you may need to replace the electronic module.
Note: If you have to replace the module be sure to measure the position it is in, it is critical to starting.
B...Also take some fine grit sandpaper (not emery) and lightly sand the flywheel where the magnet is located to clean any rust or corrosion from the magnet area.

It sounds like it might be seized up. Pull the spark plug out and see if you can pull the cord that way.
Let me know what you find. How old is your machine?

How old is this lawn mower, and have you replaced the spark plug recently?

Also, check to make sure the air filter is not clogged, preventing the engine from breathing.

Yard machine lawn mower won't start

Several questions here...

1. Is the oil serviced to the full mark?
The oil level sensor can cause a no spark condition because it grounds the ignition.
2. Is there spark at the spark plug? You can remove the spark plug and test for spark but if the plug is internally grounded it will show spark when removed but if it is installed it can still be defective. (Spark Plugs are cheap replace it)
3. Is the handle safety cable loose even when depressed? A bad safety cable or an improper cable adjustment can also cause a lack of spark.
4. Do you note gas on the spark plug or is it very dry? If the spark plug is dry try adding a splash of gas into the cylinder via the spark plug hole and see if you get a temporary / momentary start. If you do then you have either a fuel supply or carb problem.
Make sure the fuel selector is in the ON position.
5. If you suspect a fuel problem disconnect the tank feed line to the carb and see if there is fuel flow from the tank, No fuel flow no start.... then problem in the gas tank or supply line.

I will post this as a solution but will watch for any responses and continue to assist you if needed.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How do i fix the key under the flywheel

I think this saw ran very lean and damaged the piston and cylinder.
· Remove the spark plug wire and plug.
· Remove the muffler, hold a light at the plug hole and inspect the cylinder through the exhaust port. Is it smooth and shiny or does it appear speckled with dull gray spots or smears?
· Pull the starter slowly, inspect the piston as it rises and falls. Is it a dull gray without scratches and gouges?
· Hold the light at the exhaust port and inspect the cylinder, above the exhaust port, through the spark plug hole. Is it shiny and smooth or speckled with gray spots or smears?
Any spots or smears on the cylinder or deep scratches and gouges in the piston indicate the saw was operated in a lean condition. Repair of this on a home owner quality saw often exceeds replacement cost. A repair estimate by the independent saw shop should be considered. HTH
