Question about KitchenAid Kitchen Ranges
I have a KitchenAid gas range, model YKGRC608. The two interior oven lights won't come on, though I hear a click when I open or close the door or touch the oven light control button. The switch on the inside (that gets pushed in when the door is closed) seems to move freely. Everything else seems to be working. I have changed one bulb, but I can't get the protective glass cover off the other light to change it too.
1) Is it possible that the lights are wired so if one bulb is burnt out, the other won't come on?
2) What else could be the problem?
3) Any tips to help get the protective glass cover off? I can move it a little from side to side, but not unscrew it, it's stuck. Is WD-40 safe to use on the inside of the oven?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Inner door glass replacement
open door fully, look down by hinges where enter unit, pull those metal tabs back that lock the door in place, close door to broil position 3/4 way closed and lift up, which should get the door off the unit.. once removed you would have to get acess inside that door by a combination on removing outer sccrews and hing screws and also seperating those glasses.....be careful to remeber how everything goes back i know of some techs that run into problems reassemblin those doors.. hope this helps,, some local service companies often charge a smaller in shop service call for small items like that if thats avaialable in your area,, hope this helps

they are often very stiff due to crud burning on. use mole grips and there is a risk you will break bulb cover but that is not the end of the world.
make sure you use a heat proof bulb as a replacement

I was able to remove the base from the socket by inserting pliers and opening them so that they pressed against the inner sides of the base and then turning while exerting pressure.

SOURCE: changing oven light bulb
The manual states to turn the cover counter clockwise. I was able to turn it about an inch and then it stopped turning. You really have to apply pressure, but it will turn more. It is similar to a tight light fixture. I was worried about breaking it, but it did finally loosen. I believe the replacement bulb is a 40 watt mini oven bulb also...
Hope this helps!
