Only fix - get a powered USB hub, plug it in an open port and the camera in it. Something like

Can't make webcam work on Acer Travelmate 4500

This sounds like a USB issue. Not all USB ports on laptops are created equal (they should be but they are not) some usb ports supply enough voltage and current to run usb items properly and some dont. It is always better to run direct from the computer / laptops ports .

If you cant do this then use a HUB but make sure the HUB HAS IT"S OWN POWER SUPPLY !

Also make sure you always use the same port and swapping them around does not always work for all hardware.

Very long time to install lifecam 2.04

Did you use the CD software program that came with the camera?

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Canon IP2200 ports

Hi,

Offhand, a couple of ideas, queries and suggestions:
  • verify the USB is enable in the CMOS/BIOS settings/configuration;
  • verify that there are no yellow or red markings in the Device Manager particularly the Universal Serial Bus Controllers;
  • try re-installing the printer drivers with your anti-virus temporarily disabled;
  • try re-installing the printer drivers with the printer not physically connected to the USB ports. Connect printer only when instructed to do so, Reboot;
  • update your Operating System;
  • pls humor me, tried a spare USB cable?
  • have you tried the printer in another PC?
  • have you tried other USB devices such as webcam, flashdrive, digital camera?
Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Harware incampatibility

issues with web cams like you have effect notebooks and desktops alike, because sometimes there is not enough power supplied to the usb port that the cam is connected to. Trying a different port can sometimes cure this, but also check with the phillips web site for any updated drivers or uninstall and reinstall the driver and software again as the blue screen can also be because of a corrupt driver.

Usb extention lead doesn't work with webcam

So you know the cam is ok and the cable, so you will have to point to the usb port not being able to push enough power through the cable to the camera as it must take a higher voltage than the other cam. Make sure that the other cam software is uninstalled and you have done registry clean in case of conflicts and also try using a different usb port but install the camera with the driver again using the extension in it, aplogies if you did, i am assuming you may have installed the camera directly without the extension cable.
