I purchase a Internert Security 2011 Norton 1 year protection for up to 3 pc i download norton's on my reg lap top and my desktop, How do i down load this norton 2011 on my notebook computer this would be...

If you mean how do you load the Norton's on your Netbook? That means you don't have access to usb CD/DVD drive. You can go to Norton's website from the Netbook and download the 2011 trail software then when it asks you to upgrade to full version you can add the product key for the third PC. This has worked for me.

Got the lap top from a friend over a year ago he has norton on it and when it ran out i opened an account in my name but i dont know when it runs out and i cant seem to b able to log in to my account ...

The problem is that even though you opened your own account with Norton, for it to work the way you wanted Norton would have had to be fully uninstalled beforehand.
Go to Start-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs,or Programs & Features depending on your version of windows, and uninstall the Norton product. Then go to the following link and download and run the Norton Removal Tool. When you run it,you don't want to save any configuration or registration keys, those will be for the old account.
After that you can go back to Norton and contact their customer service to get your account going and install the products you want.
Post back if you need any help,or have any other questions.

Down loaded new nortonantivirus from tiscali seams to be slowing down lap top any sugestions

Unfortunately many antiviruses tend to slow down things: they have to check each file on execution.

Check that your antivirus isn't scanning your whole system just now. Many antiviruses will do that upon first installation, to be sure they're running on a clean system. If that's the case, wait for it to complete.

If this happens often, there's a "speed" setting - fast scan will make the computer slow, but slow scan or "idle scan" will load the system much less. Try those.

Otherwise, maybe another antivirus might work better. I've always found ESET's NOD32 very light-treading even on not-exactly-bleeding-edge computers. Another one is AVG, of which there's even a Personal Free edition.

Cannot uninstall Norton - get 'ERROR 9999.174' message.

Try to start your windows on safe mode.
To do it restart your computer and press F8 button before windows logon appear then you will start windows on safe mode.
After you start windows on safe mode go to control panel again and try to remove it.

How will i remove the virus manually?

i hope you got norton off your system before putting AVG free on. Virus programs try to fight off other virus programs by postiong false virus claims to erase the other program. eventually they will kill your hard drive. You need a product key for a good virus protectant. Norton or CA offer good, reliable protection for your dollar. What i would do, is back up any really important stuff you have there, format your hard drive and install Vista again if you have the disc and then re-install it to permanetly delete viruses. Also your system maybe slow because VIsta needs at least a dual core processor and 2 GB RAM to work like a XP machine
