The 1rst thing i would try is connect a external monitor to your machine and see if that comes on when you restart your laptop,if it does not then you know that you have a mother board or a video card problem.
contact www.phoenixtec.ca ,they are very good at solving issues like that

Take out the RAM card from the back of the laptop and reset the card properly and that should resolve your issue // how will you locate at the back of the laptop? its simple . if you look at the bottom of your laptop there will be a two sided comb like small picture given. its a niversal sign on every any any model of laptop. open the back cover when its powered off and take out the ram cards. refix it properly and when you do that be very carefull and do it carefully. do not apply too much force because the RAM slot is very delicate and part of motherboard and most people break it while doing that. so be carefull.
it should resolve your issue.

Could be bad ram, hard drive or possibly a bad display panel or video card.Try using different ram and removing the hard drive then try it.Also, connect it to an external display and see if it shows video or not.If after trying these things it still isn't showing let me know and i'll try to help more.

The fact that the computer wouldn't turn on tells me that the liquid managed to make its way to the motherboard..and when liquid touches that it isn't going to do anything nice, especially if there was power circulating through it when the liquid hit it. The best practice when liquid comes into contact with electronics is to remove all power sources and do not turn it on unless you're absolutely certain that the components are completely dry. In the case of a laptop this wouldn't be possible unless it had been taken apart. Chances are that the liquid shorted something. When you press the power button on the laptop do the fans come on along with a POST screen? The POST screen is the first screen that pops up when you turn the computer on, white text on a black background. They're all pretty unique between computers but they usually describe things such as memory/BIOS and also are often accompanied by an audible beep. If this screen does pop up, ARE there any audible beeps? If you hit the power button and nothing happens (no fans, no POST) chances are the power supply and/or the motherboard are blown and you will need to have a technician look at it.

Sorry I couldn't give you better news.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

The problem with your laptop isn't related with power supply. Even if your battery isn't working, it would have started with the help of the Charger/External supply.

The actual problem seems to be related with the Planner/Motherboard. When it stops working, it causes major problem. You should consult the manufacturer of your computer and if it is in its warranty period, they'll repair/replace it for free.

Hook a external monitor to the video output on the back of the laptop, if okay! there is a LCD problem with the laptop screen, causes! bad inverter board, or back light. If both show black! causes are Video Graphics Card that is part of the motherboard.

After switching on my laptop screen shows ibm thinkpad than it +turns red and screen turns off (means it shows nothing).

If the hard disk LED flashes, then the laptop may by booting up but you cannot view anything on the LCD screen. This most likely a back light problem and could be caused by a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link to determine the fault and fix :-

Laptop screen is not showing anything after power is on

if the power is on and the screen does not show up , try to hook an external monitor using the VGA cable. If the screen does show up, it means that the problem is in the laptop LCD monitor itself. Otherwise if the external monitor does not show up, that means your laptop does not boot anymore to the operating system. Try to turn off the power and remove the power cable and battery on the laptop. Then press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Then reinsert the battery and power cables on the laptop then turn on the laptop. If there is still no screen displayed then call Lenovo for repair of your laptop.

Laptop turns on for a couple seconds but then shuts down, screen doesnt show anything during that ttime

Remove the battery and plug the laptop. If there is no activity when you push on the power button (not even for a second) your motherboard is defective: it could be only the power jack, but it could be a bigger problem also.
There is a very small chance to be a memory problem; check the memory as it follows;
- if you have 2 memory modules use only one at a time, the other one could be defective or
- check your memory with another laptop or
- use some known good memory etc.

If there is no activity or no video signal with good memory that means the motherboard is defective. Could be expensive to be repaired or replaced. Verify if the laptop is in warranty and have it checked by a professional.
