Question about Honeywell Electronic Programmable Heat/Cool Thermostat - CT3300A100 Heater

2 Answers

Our TH8000 Series Programmable Thermostat keeps flashing "change filter" even after we changed it. The guide book does not show how to re-set so the flashing stops.

Try holding the filter button in for three seconds, if that doesn't reset the timer try the filter button and the temp. up button at the same time for three seconds.

Per the TH8000 user manual verbatim.

"When a Timer expires, a Reset key appears on the Home Screen. Press Rest key to reset the Timer. Notice that the "Change" reminder disappears from the thermostat screen. If more than one Timer expires at the same time, press the Reset key to reset all expired Timers."

i would have to say replace the t-stat. did they change the filter. did they check the evap coil. did they clean the condenser coil. your supply temp should be at least 20 deg colder then your return temp. do you have an attic fan and is it working. is your unit over 15 years old the consider a system replacement. is the unit sized correct. every 400 sq foot of house you should have a ton of cooling. also can you feel drafts at your windows. all thing why your house could be warm. also check your ticket and see what your super heat was it should be 9-12 hope this helps.

Air conditionair will not start thermostat has flashing filter sign

The flashing filter sign has nothing to do with the a/c not running. Have you checked the breakers for the a/c. Is the indoor blower running? Would need more info to further diagnose. The flashing filter sign is only a indicator set by internal timer in the stat. You should change your filter every 30 days unless your using an aircleaner that says its okay to go longer. if you have the brand and part # of the stat i coud get you a manual so you can learn how to reset your filter change indicator

Th8000 does not match another thermometer inside home

Is the thermostat mounted near a lamp or other heat source?
Is the wall warm from ducts in the wall or a refrigerator on the other side?
The thermostats are usually pretty accurate. Most times I find some other influence on the thermostat causes the problem.
The Honeywell 8000 series also has a feature accessed through the installer setup menu, that will allow the temp display to be changed + or - 8 or 9 degrees.
Check the manual or Honeywell's website for a .pdf if you need it.
Hope this helps.
