Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

In itunes on my PC, whenever I search the store and listen to samples of music, the music keeps stopping in the middle of the sample and a message pops up saying "Rebuffering System". How can I resolve this? My buffer speed is now set on Small. It was set on Medium, but the same thing happens. I do not have dial-up internet, so evidentally I shouldn't change it to Large. Thank you for your help.

Hi! I followed your advice yesterday. I deleted all temp files and all prefetch files. I then tried to follow your 3rd point (click on My Computer, etc.), but I don't think this went right for me. There was never the word "Apply" to click on. I kept clicking on "OK", hoping that this would work as well. Do you think it worked for me or not? Also, how do I find out how much RAM I have? I went into itunes to listen to some samples of music, and it is stopping in the middle of the samples even MORE now that I have done these steps.

For that remove all temp files from computer .
Press windows key +R so you can see run type in run "%tmp%" without "" press ok then you can see all temp files delete all temp files.
Type in run "prefetch" without "" then press ok delete all prefetch files.
Type in run "chkdsk /r" then press "y" then restart computer then it fix error on harddrive.Right click on my computer then click on property then hardware->advanced then click on settings of performance then click on advanced then click on change click on custom size and set initial size to max size.

I turn my player on and hit folder to open up my songs and nothing is coming up it just goes back to folder it was working a few hours ago i finished listening to a song then it stopped working i thin

You'll need to check that the files in the folder are MP3 or WMA (Windows Media files). Unfortunately, no other file types are supported so you will need to avoid iTunes and use Windows Media Player or similar to manage your library and the Eclipse.

I sample on mpc and a crazy computer noise repeatly comes out.. i cn still do a function but the noise still dnt stop

This usually means your digital buffer overloads. When you have added several layers on to a sound it can be to much. Try to sample the sound again. If it comes back try to take the sample in a lower bitrate. Maybe your maybe can not keep up with the bitrate.

I am already a member of itunes case number 126-039-168 How do i transfer to my new computer

No problem, this only takes 5 easy steps to accomplish.

First, install iTunes on the new computer. (http://www.apple.com/itunes)

Second, start iTunes on the new computer. It will open up with a blank library (or the sample music that comes with Windows, but not your music library)

Third, click on iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes. This will require an internet connection.

Almost there!
Fourth, look in the top-left corner, right under "Search Store" and you'll see a button to log in. This may be your email address, or "Sign In"
Click on that and it will prompt you for your iTunes account info. Log in and hit "Authorize Computer"

Finally connect your iPod and let it sync your library to the new computer.

If you have any questions, post back here with that "add comments" button.

And if this helped, please be sure to hit the "thumbs-up" for me!

After installing Itunes on my computer, have noticed my computer has slowed right down, any theory's on this ? Also music installed on my new ipod from My Music files sounds very tinny. Has anyone else...

iTunes is horrible, horrible audio software.
It is likely your computer has slowed down because by its default settings, iTunes 'helps' you by reorganizing all your music into an incomprehensible directory structure only apple products can use. It will also re-encode your .mp3 files into apple's format to make it even less likely you will listen to your music on a competitor mp3 product.

For best results with your ipod, review all your iTunes settings. Tell iTunes:
  1. to manually manage the music on your ipod
  2. not to reorganize your library
  3. not to reencode your music files
  4. to encode new music files in .mp3 format, joint stereo, at 96K or 128K sampling frequency.

I hope that helps.

Getting different music

You need to find a site that is compatible with the mix max. Most sites will work. You just pick the songs you want and download them. I would try a sample first before I commit to buying anything, just to make sure the site is compatable. However, music in a WMA format should be fine.

I've heard that the itunes store doesn't work on other players. Then I heard they changed that. Walmart.com and Amazon both have songs. They are usually around 99 cents.
