Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

I have the original nintendo game console. I re- cently bought a 32' Sony Bravia LCD HDTV (KDL-32BX300). My problem is the tv does not accept a signal from the game console. No video signal and the audio is just white noise. Is my game box com- patible with my tv?

Hi,

Its a very old system but there is no reason it should not work with a new TV as the standard connectors are present. Your Bravia has inputs for A/V cable and Component cables which look similar except for color. Perform the connections as follows:

I have the original nintendo - 46de91c.jpg

Installation Steps:

  1. Locate the Audio/Video inputs on the back of the TV.
  2. Place the yellow end of the AV cable into the Video "in" on the back of the TV. Connect the white or red end of the cable to Audio "in" ("left" or "mono"). Use a slight twisting motion when inserting each cable and ensure the cables are firmly pressed into the input.
  3. On the other end of the AV cable, plug the yellow end into the "Video" (yellow) input. Plug the white or red end into the "Audio" (red) input, on the back of the NES.
After the system is connected to the TV:
  1. Insert the Game Pak firmly into the Control Deck.
  2. Plug the Controller(s) into the front of the system. Use the far left port for player one.
  3. Plug the AC Adapter into the back of the system . Plug the other end into a wall outlet.
  4. Press the Power button in on the front of the NES.
  5. Turn on the TV and locate the input select. It is often called: TV/Video, input select, AUX (auxiliary), Line, Line In, Input, Source, Select, In, or EXT (external). Switch the input select to show the Nintendo game.
  6. The game image should now be displayed on the screen.

Note that you must not confuse Component Input for A/V cables. You will find the location of inputs in the TV's user manual. Let me know if you are still unable to get a picture. Thanks.

Sony Bravia Bx 300 Blinking Light/Volume

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
