SOURCE: I AM HAVING TROUBLE OUT OF MY BOSTITCH MIIIFS FLOOR NAILER

D Farley,
I repair these nailers all the time. Anytime the nail or staple is bending you have 2 causes. Either the stapler has a broken blade, the magazine is loose on the foot gate, or you are shooting into plywood over concrete. that is allowing the staple to hit the cement subfloor. Use 11 /2" staples on 3/4" wood floor over 3/4" plywood when over concrete.

SOURCE: 5/8 flooring nailer

TJ
The flooring is it engineered or solid? Specific engineered can be nailed with this gun. Using hte white plate that came in the bag, Its a thicker plate than the gun, and a BOSTITCH 108771, metal shim that installs inside the gun. This will allow 5/8" thick, Owens, Aswaha bay, etc 5/8" thick, with a heavy wearlayer to be installed with this nailer. Any thinner wear layer will become a problem

SOURCE: using the BOstitch flooring nailer, good air

1. check to make sure the magazine does not contain a jam.
2. check to make sure the driver retracts fully to allow the cleat to advance
3. Be sure to have at least 90psi and to hit the head hard enough to fully fire the nailer.

The nailer is jammed but it is not in the shaft, how can I unjam this gun?

Clearing the jam will require some disassembly. See the link below for additional information about parts and disassembly diagrams for Bostitch guns. Enter the model number when asked.

What is the correct way to place the nails into the gun? This gun uses both cleats and staples. I am using cleats but it does not seem to be working. I may be putting the cleats in wrong.

If you have a Bostitch MIII FN it is only for cleats. Bostitch doesn't make a universal nailer that takes staples and cleats. The MIIIFN is the "floor nailer" and the Model MIIIFS is the "floor stapler"
Maybe check exactly what model you have and ensure you are not trying to put cleats into a stapler.
