Which settings? You turn the zoom ring to change the focal length. You turn the focus ring to change the focus. Depending on the camera you're using, you change the aperture either by turning the aperture ring or by locking it at its minimum aperture (largest f/number) and turning a dial on the camera.

Why won't my camera lense stay open

Its the power saving feature that retracts lens if camera not used for a set length of time.
If you want camera lens to stay open longer, change the settings by assigning a longer period of time.

I have nikon D90 SLR. with 18-135mm lens , i want to record a video with it but a videos quality is really low .. should I change a setting or something else?

Press the menu button and go to the shooting menu (the little camera icon). Scroll down to "movie settings." there are three quality settings. Select the one you want then try a test shot. The higher quality setting (1280 X 720 pixels) uses more memory. The default setting is 640 x 424 pixels and the lowest quality setting which uses the least amount of memory is 320 x 216 pixels. Sound is off by default so if you want to record sound with your video, you need to turn the microphone on in this menu as well.

I'm doing a project for school and i need to change the aperture for different photos. But my camera refuses to take the photo on any other aperture. Why is there an aperture adjuster if you can't use it....

It depends on the lens.

If you're using a lens with an aperture ring, simply set the exposure mode to Manual or Aperture priority and change the aperture by turning the aperture ring on the lens. In Aperture priority the camera will set the shutter speed appropriately, in Manual you have to determine the appropriate shutter speed. If you want to use such a lens in Shutter priority or one of the Program modes, you must set the aperture to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and lock it.

If you're using a lens without an aperture ring then it's a bit harder. You can only use the camera in Shutter priority or one of the Program modes. You turn the command dial on the camera to change the exposure, and the aperture will change. If you want to use an exposure different than what the meter suggests, you can adjust it by using either exposure compensation or changing the ISO setting (or both).

Sound like you might have some dirt on the lens, color wheel, or lamp.

Unplug your set first before trying this.

If you are comfortable opening up the back of the set, you might try shooting a small puff of canned air toward the lens to see if the problem changes. Try not to stir up too much dust lest it cause other issues. If the problem changes, a good cleaning might be the solution.

Please call in an expert if you aren't comfortable taking apart the TV yourself. Check your manufactures recommendations fr cleaning your set.

Hope this helps.

Oddly I heard some one post a solution to a similar problem. The problem stems from having your camera set to " red eye correction" Taking it off this setting solves the problem.

Is there a chart that explains the range of a lens. I have a Canon EOS and want to buy a zoom lens to shoot birds, wildlife etc. I don't know how far80-200 MM shoots. I know it's sounds like a dumb ?'s -...

Multiply the mm by 1.5 to get the actual range on a digital camera for any particular lens. Example...80-200 is actually 120-300mm. Then, to give you an idea of how that will look, every 50mm is like a 1x power on a pair of binoculars. Example...120=2.4 power, 300=6 power.

Problem with lens

if you cant afford it read this,
The reason for this is that I find it easiest to track a moving subject if it's in the middle of the viewfinder. Cameras cannot know what you want to focus on, and if you start using multiple AF points, how is the camera supposed to know that you want to focus on the bird and not the tree - cameras are lacking in human thought processes! What is quite handy though is using the AI SERVO FOCUS or AI FOCUS settings so that the lens will alter it's focus on the subject over which the centre AF point is aligned as it moves towards you or further away from you. Without this, the focus will fix at the point you half depress shutter and if the subject comes closer or goes further away then it will be out of focus. you can call any expert of lences also for it if you can afford.
