Question about Pool & Spa
I need to know how much pool cholorine to put in a pool that is 15 by 4
There are a couple things going on here ...
You need to know how much warer is in the pool ...
Here are the formula:
(diameter divided X 2 = radius)
Radius X Radius X 3.14 = surface area.
step 2: surface area X average depth X 7.5 = gallons in the pool.
Length X Width = surface area
With this information, you can refer to your sanitiser container to answer your question.
There is more to this ... your pool water should be balanced to assure proper sanitation and economic operation. Your pH should be about 7.4, your Total alkalinity should be between 80 and 100 or 100 and 120 depending on the kind of chlorine you are using. If this is a vinyl pool you dont need to worry about calcium. Good CA level is 250.
To maintain proper CL level, you should test your water with a DPD kit. CL levels are affected by bather load, fill water and the sun. The sun consumes CL as does bather load.
Thanks for your question. I hope this helps.
